We join with you in prayer, Powers, and we appreciate that you have included the name of Jesus in your request as this is vital for our communcation with God. Let us come before the Lord with your requests and seek His will together.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Powers and their children. We pray for Your healing power to touch their lives, and for Your protection to surround them. We ask that the Holy Spirit would draw their hearts and souls close to Jesus, guiding them in His ways and deepening their relationship with Him.
We also pray for deliverance from the evil one, Lord. Surround them with Your hedge of protection, and give them discernment and strength to resist temptation and stand firm in their faith.
We are reminded of the words of Jesus in John 17:15-17 (WEB): "Not as the world gives, give I to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. You heard how I told you, 'I go away, and I come to you.' If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I said 'I am going to my Father;' for the Father is greater than I. I have told you now before it happens so that, when it happens, you may believe."
Powers, we encourage you to continue to trust in the Lord and to teach your children to do the same. Remember that God has given us His Holy Spirit to be our guide, comforter, and teacher. He is faithful, and He will not leave you nor forsake you. We encourage you to focus your family on this one true God and the teaching of scripture in your homes Deu 11.19,21 as formal instruction from God to all of us. This will help bring your hearts and souls close to Jesus. Many come to church but do not allow His words in their homes. As a conscientious Christian and loving parent, you have this wonderful opportunity to share longstanding scriptural values with your children. Bring Jesus in your home as if He is a living person there with you. Your children will always remember that as they grow older. Whether by direct teaching or your personal values and lifestyle, always living by example, they will see your caring love for our Lord.
Continue to pray together as a family, and may the Lord bless you and keep you always. Keep your eyes always focused on God's promises and not just the world's problems. Be that Godly light in your children's eyes as you grow and mature with Him. Always remembering God is in control of everything and not joys or concerns of the world. His strength is what you need to overcome daily challenges of life. Your family can be that new light on the block that gives the good news of the gospel to others in your neighborhood. You as parents have the opportunity to mold and shape each of your children's values with wisdom not just for today but for the next 100 years until the Lord returns.
