We are glad you have reached out, and we want you to know that your past is in the past. The Bible tells us that there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit Romans 8:1. This means that if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are a new creature in Him. Old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17.
Your focus should not be on what you have done in the past. But just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior; because it is written, You shall be holy; for I am holy 1 Peter 1:15,16.
We pray that you will not dwell on the things of the past, but that you will press on toward the goal to win the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus Philippians 3:13,14. We pray that you will not let Satan bring up your past to you. Instead will trust in the promises of God. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11.
If you have not already, accept Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of your life. Turn away from any sin that may be in your life currently. Submit your life to God and you will be saved. For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved Romans 10:13.
Let us pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this person who has things in their past that they do not want to be told. Lord, we know that You are a merciful God. We thank You that because of the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on the cross, those who believe in Him are able to stand before You blameless. Lord, help this person to know that if they are in Christ Jesus they are a new creature. Help them to know that the old things have passed away. Lord, remove the memories of their past and fill their heart and mind with Your peace and with Your love. Help them to focus on the things that You have set before them. Give them a future and a hope. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
