We are truly saddened to hear about the situation and will pray for God's will to be done in this circumstance. Firstly, we would like to kindly rebuke the use of the word partner. The Bible teaches that believers should not be yoked with unbelievers. A partner could mean almost anyone that has some sort of relationship with them. If you are a Christian, you should not be looking for a partner; you should be looking for a spouse. Marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman. It is important to seek God's will in this situation and pray for guidance.
First we must mention that there is no forgiveness without repentance. Whatever the circumstances are that put your spouse in prison, there must be true repentance. Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. Worldly sorrow is just a selfish sorrow. Feeling sorry for oneself because they are now forced to deal with the consequences of their own decisions does not lead to repentance. God does not desire anyone to be falsely imprisoned. God desires mercy. However, if a man does wrong, he should be punished. God can allow punishment for wrongdoing to draw a man to repentance.
Remember the words of the Apostle Peter, But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake whether to the king, as supreme, or to governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evildoers and for praise to those who do well. For this is the will of God, that by well-doing you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: as free, and not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.
Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
Servants, be in subjection to your masters with all fear not only to the good and gentle but also to the froward. For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God. For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating But if, when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God.
Because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps who did no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth who, when he was cursed, didn't curse back. when he suffered, didn't threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously who his own self bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness who by his wounds you were healed. For you were going astray like sheep; but are now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. 1 Peter 2:9-25 WEB
We will pray for God's will to be done in this situation. We pray that your spouse will come home soon. We pray that you both will turn your hearts toward God and live in obedience to Him. We pray that the captive will be set free as it says in Luke 4:18, The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed. We pray that you and your spouse will heal from all the hurt and pain of this situation. We pray this in Jesus' name.
If you have not trusted in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we pray that you will now. It is written, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed. For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him. For, Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:9-13 WEB.
