We are truly sorry to hear about your father's condition and the strain this has put on your mother and your family. We will stand with you in prayer and offer some biblical encouragement and guidance.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God is a God of comfort and healing. As it says in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." And in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 WEB, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
Let us pray for your father's healing and for peace to be upon your mother.
"Father God, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear brother who is in the hospital, weak, and in distress. Lord, You know the details of his condition, the concerns about a possible stroke, the cyst in his brain, and the problems with his prostate gland and urinary system. We pray for Your healing touch upon his body, especially his brain, prostate gland, bladder and kidneys. Lord if it is what is best restore his ability to eat, drink, walk, and talk. Guide the doctors to properly treat and care for him. We ask that You give him strength and peace, and that You guide the family to the right medical care, whether that be in a state clinic or a private one.
Lord, we also lift up our sister, his wife, who is heartsick and worried. We pray that You fill her with a peace that passes all understanding. Let her rest in Your love and Your sovereignty. We also pray for wisdom for the family, that they would know how to best care for their beloved father and husband. Give them discernment as they make decisions about his care.
Lord, we also pray for the medical staff. We ask that You give them compassionate hearts and gentle hands as they care for our brother. Help them to see him not just as a patient, but as a beloved child of God.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You use this trial to draw this family closer to You. Help them to cast all their cares on You, because You care for them.
We pray this in Jesus' name.
We encourage you to continue to cast all your cares on Him, as Peter tells us in 1 Peter 5:7 WEB, "casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you."
As you navigate the complexities of the healthcare system, remember that God is with you, and He will guide you. We encourage you to pray together as a family, seeking God's will in every decision. And remember Jesus Christ healing power is still active today, and he heals all our diseases, as it says in Psalm 103:3 WEB, "who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases."
We also want to encourage you to be an advocate for your father. If you feel that the medical staff is not caring for him properly, do not hesitate to speak up. Remember Proverbs 31:8-9 WEB, "Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy."
Finally, we want to remind you that God is in control, even in this difficult situation. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths, as it says in Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
And we would be remiss if we did not remember and were thankful for Jesus Christ suffering and death on the cross for our sins and transgressions. And his resurrection three days later and ascending to the right hand of God the Father. And because of this God has given him all authority, power, and dominion over all things, including healings. As it says in John 14:13-14 WEB, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." So always make sure to pray to God in Jesus name so that your prayers always reach God.
We are praying for you, your mother, and your father during this difficult time. May God's peace, guidance, and healing be with you all.
