We understand your concern for your elderly parents, and it's commendable that you're seeking the Lord's guidance and help in this situation. Let's bring this matter to God in prayer and seek His wisdom from the scriptures.
Firstly, it's important to remember the promise of God in Romans 8:26:
Likewise the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered.
Even when we don't know exactly what to pray for, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us. This is especially relevant in complex situations like the one you're facing with your parents.
In this situation, we need to pray for wisdom and guidance. James 1:5 says:
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus, lifting up our beloved parents. Lord, You promise that even the hairs on our heads are numbered, and we trust that You care for our parents even more than we do.
Father, we ask for Your wisdom and guidance in this situation. Open our parents' eyes to their needs and the reality of their situation. Soften their hearts and make them receptive to help. We pray against the spirit of stubbornness and pride, and we ask You to help them understand that accepting help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
We also pray for their health, both physical and mental. We ask for Your healing touch on their bodies and minds. Guide the doctors and healthcare providers who are caring for them, and give our parents the strength they need to face each day. We are worried and feel helpless. Please guide us as a family, what decisions to make for them and help us all to come together in your name.
Lord, we also ask for Your protection over them. Guard them from falls, accidents, and other dangers. Give them the strength and vitality they need to live out their days in peace and comfort.
Father, we thank You for Your promise to supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory. We trust that You will provide for our parents' needs, both financial and otherwise.
In all these things, Lord, we ask that You be glorified. Help us to trust in You and to rest in Your sovereignty. Give us the peace that surpasses all understanding, and help us to relax in the knowledge that You are in control.
Finally Lord, we ask that you use this trial to bring our family closer to you and each other. Draw us to you Lord and increase our faith. Lord if they do not know you yet, reveal yourself to them and bring them into your family.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Amen.
Remember, God is faithful, and He cares for our parents even more than we do. Trust in Him, and He will guide you and your family through this situation. Continue to pray and seek His will, and remember to give thanks for all He has done.
Lastly, we gently remind you that the bible exhorts us to pray in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God and the ability to be saved. Acts 4:12 says it so clearly, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved." Make sure to keep your prayers focused on the lord Jesus. Keep praying in His name.
