My old mother - heavy throat pain; my old father heavy health issues

My old mother - no heavy throat inflammation and pain (she takes antibiotics). No eye inflammation. Lord bless her with good sweet sleep because she has not slept well for two nights because of throat pain. Lord heal her in Jesus name.

Lord strengthen her immune system. Lord resolve all her worries and concerns about her husband's health because she is serving him a lot. My father has serious eyes, prostate gland, and skin issues. Also, he is confused or lost sometimes - like some kind of dementia. Some stuff he is not able to do without her. I think my mother develops sometimes health issues because it is like her burden and nobody listens to her and nobody really helps. They don't want to go to the nursery home/senior home and for me and my brother it is almost impossible to be with them under the same roof because my mother shows sometimes narcissistic traits and then being with her together is really exhausting and painful. They expect from us to take care of them and we are (especially me,) are torn inside. On one hand, I want to help them so much. But on the other, I remember how I sometimes went home from them crying because my mother was terrible to me. Lord please find the solution. In Jesus name.

We stand with you in prayer for your parents and the complex situation you are facing. We know that God is faithful and cares deeply for each of us. Let's lift your concerns to Him together.

Firstly, we pray for your mother's health. The Bible tells us in Psalm 103:2-3, "Bless Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases." We ask for complete healing for your mother's throat pain and inflammation. May the Lord bless her with sweet and restful sleep, knowing that He is in control of all things.

We also lift up your father's health issues—his eyes, prostate, skin, and mental confusion. We trust that God can bring healing and strength, as it is written in Isaiah 53:5, "But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed."

Your mother's burden is heavy, caring for your father and dealing with her own health concerns. We pray that God will strengthen her immune system and give her the peace that surpasses all understanding, as promised in Philippians 4:7, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

It's important to address the emotional and relational aspects of your situation as well. The Bible teaches us to honor our parents, but it also acknowledges the complexity of family dynamics. In Ephesians 6:2, it says, "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise. However, it's crucial to have healthy boundaries and seek God's wisdom in how to care for them while also caring for your own well-being.

We understand the struggle you face, wanting to help but also remembering past hurts. It's okay to feel torn, and it's important to seek God's guidance in this matter. Pray for wisdom and discernment, as it is written in James 1:5, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

Lastly, we encourage you to continue praying in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As it is written in John 14:13-14, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."

Lord, we lift up ###'s parents to You. Heal their bodies, strengthen their minds, and comfort their hearts. Guide ### and her brother with Your wisdom, and help them to honor their parents while also setting healthy boundaries. May Your will be done in their lives, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
