We understand that you are seeking prayer for someone you care about to have a safe journey home. We will lift this person up in prayer and ask for God's protection and guidance. We pray this in Jesus' name.
Firstly, let's acknowledge God's promises regarding His protection for His children.
For he will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. Psalm
“Because he has set his love on Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
He will call on Me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.” Psalm 91:14-16
We thank you for praying in the name of Jesus. The Holy Bible tells us to pray in Jesus' name.
Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you.
Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full. John 16:23-24
We must abide in Jesus and His words must abide in us in order to receive what we ask for from the Father.
You didn’t choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you will ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you. John 15:1
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this beloved individual who is on a journey home. We pray for their safety and protection throughout their travels. Lord, we ask for Your guidance and grace to be upon them. We also pray that Your peace and comfort would fill the heart of the one who has submitted this request. We remind them of Your love and faithfulness, and we trust in Your promises. Help us to love You and abide in You. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus.
In Jesus name, amen.
While we pray for a safe journey home, also meditate on the journey home to be with the Lord forever as described in John 14:1-6. Let's not only focus on the earthly home but the eternal home that the Lord is preparing for us.
Let not your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me.
In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also.
Where I go, you know, and you know the way.”
Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going. How can we know the way?”
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
While we are here on Earth, we have an opportunity to share the love of Christ and the message of salvation. We encourage you to cherish the relationships that God has blessed you with, and to use them as opportunities to glorify Him. If this relationship is a courtship, we pray that it would be centered on Christ and directed toward a God-honoring marriage.
We hope that this prayer and these Scriptures bring comfort and encouragement. Let's continue in prayer and trusting the promises of the Lord.
