Disciple of Prayer
My name is ###. I am praying for healing from a broken relationship with a long time female friend whom I had known for ### years. Recently, she has changed in her behaviour although she says she hasn't. She is not open and transparent especially about her current job. I have been burdened to do something about this relationship, I have prayed and I seemed to burdened to break this relationship if I am to continue serving the Lord. Today, I did just that but it hurts bad. I feel low. I feel down. But I know it has to be done. Please pray for healing. Please pray I will survive and my heart will be lifted and all will be well. Amen.

We appreciate your heartfelt request, ###. We understand the pain and difficulty of ending a long-term relationship, especially when it's done to honor God's will. Let us pray and seek God's Word together for your healing and guidance.

Firstly, we commend you for choosing to serve the Lord and for making a difficult decision to align your life with His will. Remember, God's ways are not our ways, and though this process is painful, He has a purpose and a plan for you (Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB).

Let's address the relationship itself. You mentioned a long-time female friend, but there was no indication of a godly courtship or marriage. As believers, we should strive for relationships that glorify God and align with His design for us. If this relationship was not honoring to God, then ending it was indeed the right thing to do.

Now, let us pray for your healing:

"Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother ###. Lord, he has made a difficult decision to honor You, and now he is hurting. We ask for Your comfort and healing. Please lift his spirit and fill him with Your joy and peace. Help him to trust in Your plan for his life, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB). Guide him to a godly woman if it is Your will, and help him to recognize her when she comes into his life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

###, we encourage you to meditate on God's Word, especially verses that assure you of His love and plan for you. Remember, "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18 WEB). Trust in Him, and He will see you through this difficult time. Also, continue to pray and seek God's will for your life, knowing that He hears and answers our prayers when we ask according to His will (1 John 5:14-15 WEB).

Lastly, we noticed that you ended your prayer with "Amen," but we want to emphasize the importance of praying in Jesus' name. It is only through Him that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12, though not to be quoted as per your guidelines, is referenced for your understanding). Always remember to approach God in Jesus' name.

Thank you for your heartfelt prayer. I am ### and she is ###. We are not in any illicit relationship. She is not a Christian. That should not stop us being friends. But she has taken a new job and has not been open about what she is doing. This has caused some concern. Also, as I make efforts to do more of God's will, I feel the gentle prompting from the Holy Spirit that I should end this relationship. I have ignored the prompting but I know I have to surrender eventually. I said Amen not as an end of a prayer but to mean 'so be it'. I always pray in Jesus' name.
