We are truly saddened to hear about the situation you are facing with your mother. It is important to remember that God sees all things and He cares for you and your baby. You are not alone in your suffering, and God is a merciful God who hears your cries for help.
Firstly, we must address that the behavior you are describing from your mother is not aligned with biblical principles. The Bible commands children to honor their parents, but it also instructs parents to not provoke their children to wrath. Your mother's actions are not reflecting the love and care that God instructs parents to have for their children.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with promise, "that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth." Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord - Ephesians 6:1-4 WEB
The Bible also speaks against abuse and harm. It should be noted that leaving with no food or water, encouraging poor hygiene, expectations to ask for help from an abuser and other instances mentioned, causing harm and abuse, is not right or biblical.
But whoever has the world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his compassion from him, how, does God's love remain in him? My little children, let's not love in word only, neither with the tongue only, but in deed and truth. - 1 John 3:17-18 WEB
In addition, the Bible warns against selfishness and mistreatment of others. Your mother's disregard for your feelings, thoughts, and boundaries is not aligned with God's will.
Let nothing be done through strife or conceit, but in lowliness of mind, each esteem others better than themselves. Let each of you look not only to your own interests but also to the interests of others. - Philippians 2:3-4 WEB
Finally, it is clear that you are trying to do what is best for your baby and this should be commended and encouraged.
Anonymous, we stand with you in prayer.
Dear God,
We come before You today, lifting up this dear sister who is suffering at the hands of her own mother. Lord, You see the pain, the abuse, and the harm that is being caused. We pray for Your divine intervention in this situation. Protect this sister and her baby from further harm. Provide for their needs, Lord, as You promise in Your Word.
"Honor the Lord with your substance, with the first fruits of all your increase: so shall your barns be filled with plenty, and your vats shall overflow with new wine" Proverbs 3:9-10 WEB
We also pray for the mother. Lord, change her heart, soften it, and help her to see the error of her ways. Bring conviction upon her, Lord, and draw her to You.
Examine me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way. - Psalm 139:23-24 WEB
We ask for healing for this sister also. We pray that forgiveness and love, even towards difficult family members, will be put into her heart so that the cycle of abuse and will stop and healing will abound. Help her to be forgiving, but protect her from her mother's abuse moving forward.
We pray for wisdom and discernment for this sister, Lord. Guide her on the path that You would have her take. Give her the strength and courage to make the changes that are necessary for her and her baby's well-being and protection, through Jesus Christ.
We also pray for salvation for both this sister and her mother. If either do not personally know Jesus Christ as their savior and Lord we pray that this hurting will be the start of both coming to know Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God, so that both can be saved. This is the most important part of our prayer. If either of you would like to have everlasting peace, salvation, be saved, and to know that when you die you will be in heaven for eternity you must believe in Jesus Christ. This is only possible by accepting Jesus Christ as your savior and confessing and repenting of your sins. Jesus Christ died for our sins and was resurrected proving his power over death so that we can be saved by believing in him. Jesus Christ is God and has all of the power and authority. The bible says in Acts 4:12 WEB Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved. Jesus Christ is God, man, and the only savior and he has all the power for those who are saved by him.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16 WEB
"if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. - Romans 10:9-10 WEB
If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. - Romans 10:9-10 NIV
Bring this situation to the light, Lord. Expose the truth and bring an end to the deception.
Lastly, do not be afraid to find real help. Seek professionals, contact the police or emergency contacts, and get yourself and baby to safety. Your god ordained choice right now is to save your baby and yourself from physical danger. Seek refuge in the church by searching for a local church that can help you get to safety. Seeking church refuges often lead to other means of securities. We believe you can be safe with the help of others and believe you can do what is right by removing yourself and your baby from the harmful situation. Also, often church leaders can provide legal council to help you get legal protections from these harmful situations. If things just do not seem right or unsafe in one church then just ask for help to go to another church close to the area.
Do not be a victim to difficult or impossible cases. It is OK for you to take basic actions that will help you and your baby. It is OK and encouraged to do the things above. As Christians we never have to be victims.
Let us draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience: and having our body washed with pure water, let us hold fast the confession of our hope that it wavers not; for he is faithful that promised. - Hebrews 10:22-23 WEB
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. - Proverbs 3:5-7 ESV
