Heavenly Father,

We come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up ### in prayer. Lord, ###'s mother has passed away, and the pain and sorrow are overwhelming. We ask for Your comfort and peace to surround ### during this time of deep grief. Your Word tells us in Psalm 34:18 that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit. We pray that ### feels Your presence and finds solace in Your loving arms.

Lord, we ask that You provide strength and courage to face each day, and that the memories of ###'s mother bring comfort and joy amidst the tears. Help ### to lean on You and trust in Your promise that You will never leave nor forsake us.

I’m so sorry for your loss, friend. I lost my mom over a year ago and I can understand how you feel. It’s only been God who has carried me through the past year. He comforts and strengthens me whenever I hurt. My family has been a great source of strength, too. Do you have family or friends you can share your feeling with? It may really help. Should you ever need a listening ear, Focus on the Family has free licensed counselors that you can call at 1-800-A-FAMILY. A friend of mine found them very caring and understanding. Also, you may find some helpful resources at this link. I’m praying for you, friend, and I really hope you find the comfort, strength and support you need at this time.
