We understand that you're going through a challenging time in your marriage and with your in-laws. Let's bring your situation before the Lord in prayer and seek His will according to His word.
Firstly, it's important to remember that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, reflecting the union between Christ and His church. The Lord desires that husbands love their wives as Christ loved the church, and that wives respect their husbands.
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister and her marriage to Luke. Lord, You know the struggles she's facing, the pain she's feeling, and the challenges in her marriage and with her in-laws.
Father, we pray for Luke. We ask that You open his eyes and help him see and understand the pain he's causing. We pray that You soften his heart and fill him with Your love, so that he may love and cherish his wife as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her. We pray for the husband to be blameless and treat his wife with the dignity and respect that she deserves. Help him to be considerate and attentive to her needs, especially concerning her autoimmune condition. As Ephesians 5:28-29 (WEB) says, "So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly".
The scripture says to give honor to whom it is due (Romans 13:7 WEB). We pray for our sister's in-laws, that God will open their hearts and help them understand her condition and the pain they've caused. We pray for reconciliation and healing in these relationships.
Our sister feels like she has nothing more to her. We pray for a renewing of her spirit, mind, and body. Let her be reminded of Jesus who said He will never leave her nor forsake her. We pray for Gods will to be done in her life and for her marriage to be restored and strengthened.
Lord, we also pray for guidance regarding marriage counseling. We ask that You lead them to a godly counselor who will help them work through their challenges in a way that honors You. Let her find the support she needs with her health. We ask that Your word will dwell richly in their home.
We do not come before you God with any righteousness of our own. We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, and the only name by which we can be saved.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
While we understand that you're hurting, we must also remind you of the importance of forgiveness. The Lord Jesus Christ teaches us to forgive, as we have been forgiven by Him. Be encouraged by Ephesians 4:32 WEB: "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
Lastly, we want to encourage you to keep praying and trusting in the Lord. He is faithful, and He cares for you. Remember that "all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28 WEB).
