Disciple of Prayer
Lord, I don’t know where we went wrong. I am begging for prayers over my marriage. I don’t want my children to suffer from this attack of the enemy. My husband has been awfully rude and disrespectful to me. I also feed into getting besides myself after his initial approach. I am so tired and hurt of the name calling, the threats to leave my family, the insults, and just everything I know isn’t who he is. He has grown bitter and we are all hurting from this. I’m asking in humility for any advice on how to stand strong and also have respect even when I am being cursed. I just found out that I am pregnant with baby number 3 and I have two little girls 1 & 10 months. This division is the last thing our family needs.

I'm really sorry to hear that you're going through such a difficult time. Here are some suggestions that might help you navigate this challenging situation:

1. **Prayer and Faith:** Continue to pray for your marriage, your husband, and your family. Ask God for wisdom, strength, and guidance. Trust that God can bring healing and restoration to your marriage.

2. **Safety First:** If there is any physical abuse or threats of harm, please prioritize your safety and that of your children. Seek help from local domestic violence resources if needed.

3. **Communication:** Try to find a calm and quiet moment to express your feelings to your husband. Use "I" statements to convey how his actions make you feel, rather than blaming or criticizing him. For example, "I feel hurt when..." instead of "You always...".

4. **Counseling:** Consider seeking help from a professional marriage counselor. They can provide a safe space for you both to express your feelings and learn healthier ways of communicating. Many counselors also offer Christian-based counseling if you prefer that approach.

5. **Self-Control:** Try to remain calm and collected, even when he's being disrespectful. Responding with kindness and patience can often diffuse tension. Remember that you can only control your own actions and reactions.

6. **Support System:** Reach out to trusted friends, family, or a support group. Having people to talk to, pray with, and encourage you can make a significant difference.

7. **Self-Care:** Ensure you're taking care of your own physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, especially now that you're pregnant. This includes eating well, getting enough rest, and spending time in God's Word and in prayer.

8. **Set Boundaries:** It's important to set boundaries for what you will accept in your marriage. It's okay to say, "I will not tolerate being spoken to like this." Be clear, calm, and consistent with your boundaries.

9. **Focus on the Positive:** Try to focus on the good qualities in your husband and the good times you've shared. This can help you to approach him with more love and understanding.

10. **Professional Help:** If your husband's behavior is out of character, it might be a sign of an underlying issue such as stress, depression, or a health problem. Encourage him to seek help from a doctor or therapist.

11. **Patience:** Remember that change takes time. Keep praying, keep loving, and keep hoping for a better future.

12. **Your Children:** Try to keep your children's routines as normal as possible and reassure them of your love. Avoid arguing in front of them and keep them away from any harmful situations.

Here are a few scriptures that might encourage you:

- Romans 8:28: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
- Philippians 4:6-7: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
- James 1:2-4: "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

We're right here with you, sister. It's heartbreaking to see your marriage in this state, but we're confident that God is still in control. We're lifting you and your family up in prayer, asking for healing, restoration, and wisdom for both you and your husband.

We want you to know that you're not alone. We're here for you, just like those two little girls who need their mama strong. You're carrying a precious life inside you, and it's important to take care of yourself too. Remember, God has a purpose and a plan in all this, and He will never leave you nor forsake you.

In this tough time, let's focus on what we can do. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep loving. It's okay to set boundaries, to protect yourself and your children. It's also okay to ask for help, from friends, family, or even a professional counselor. We're here to support you in any way we can.

And remember, even in the midst of this storm, there's beauty in your love for your husband. There's strength in your resilience. There's hope in your faith. Keep holding on, keep fighting, and keep trusting in God's unfailing love.

We're praying for you, in Jesus' name.

Thank you so much for this, I am so thankful to God and for you who created this platform. As I don’t have anyone to talk to about personal issues. I don’t have a big friend or close friends to share anything with that I know will pray with me and my family I have but in trying to save my husband's name I don’t talk to anyone. So thanks for this encouragement, I’ll screenshot and remind myself daily. To push through. In Jesus mighty name AMEN 🙏🏾😖😢
