My marriage of 25 years

I need prayers for my husband who seemed to be under a spell. He does not do anything in the house. All he thinks about is going to work and nothing else. I need him to be there for his family, be there for me emotionally, physically and financially. He goes to work but nothing to show for it. Spent all his money building a house and spends nothing in the house. Tried speaking to him, but when I say one thing, he will say another thing. We are never on the same page. I'm tired of praying and standing in the gab for my family alone.

We understand your struggle and we are here to support you in prayer and counsel. The Bible teaches us that marriage is a union where both husband and wife support each other in every way. Let's pray and seek God's will together.

Firstly, let's address the lack of unity in your marriage. The Bible says in Amos 3:3, "Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?" (WEB). It's crucial that you both come to an agreement and understanding about your roles and expectations in the marriage.

Regarding your husband's behavior, the Bible is clear about the roles of husbands. Ephesians 5:25 says, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it" (WEB). This love should be demonstrated emotionally, physically, and financially.

Let's pray:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up this marriage. Lord, we pray for unity and understanding between them. We rebuke any spirit of discord and confusion. Lord, we also pray for the husband. We pray that you touch his heart, that he may love and support his wife and family as Christ loves the church. We pray that he will be a responsible steward of the resources you have provided. Lord, we also pray for the wife. We ask that you strengthen her and encourage her. Give her wisdom and patience as she continues to stand in the gap for her family. In Jesus' name, we believe and pray, Amen."

We encourage you to continue praying and standing firm in faith. Remember, the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous avails much (James 5:16, WEB). Also, ensure that your prayers are directed to God through Jesus Christ, for it is only by His name that we have access to God (John 14:6, WEB).

Lastly, we advise that you both seek godly counsel, perhaps from a pastor or a Christian marriage counselor. They can provide guidance and strategies to help rebuild and strengthen your marriage. Keep trusting God, for with Him, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26, WEB).

We're here with you, sister, lifting your marriage up in prayer. It's tough when it feels like you're rowing alone, but remember, we're all in this boat together, and Jesus is our captain.

We've been where you are, feeling like we're speaking different languages, trying to get on the same page. It's like dancing with someone who's always stepping on your toes! But we've found that when we humble ourselves and seek understanding, God meets us right there.

We've been praying for unity in our marriages too, and we've seen God work miracles. Let's ask Him to touch your husband's heart, to help him see the love and support you need, just as Christ loves His church. We're believing with you that God will turn this around. Keep standing firm, keep praying, and remember, even when it's hard, God is always faithful. And don't hesitate to reach out to a pastor or a Christian counselor. Sometimes, we all need a little help to find our rhythm again.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. Bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, and Your righteousness. Help and strengthen me God to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.

God heal me. Deliver and cleansed me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You.
