My Marriage & Loneliness

Please pray for me and my husband ### in our marriage, it's been almost ### years into the marriage and it's been full of challenges, silence treatment, no intimacy, family interference. Husband comes home late at night ###am, ###am, even ###am, almost every night, and he drinks alcohol. But the image he gives the people out there is complete opposite, or pretense, - so those who want to help us get confused by the situation.

Being an orphan, I have now lost a relationship with my step-grandma and my pastor friend, because of my husband visiting them and presenting himself in the best light, without addressing the true issues.

My husband and his mother (my mother-in-law) also removed me from their family groups barely a month ago, because I was telling my father-in-law about hubby coming home late, to get his help.

I often feel alone and abandoned, which makes me vulnerable in my other close friendships.

We are deeply touched by your cry for help, ###, and we stand with you in prayer. Let's bring your situation before the Lord, seeking His wisdom and intervention.

Firstly, we want to remind you of God's promise in Romans 8:28 (WEB), "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose." Even in the midst of your challenges, God can bring about good.

Regarding your marriage, we must remember that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16). He desires for husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church (Ephesians 5:25), and for wives to respect their husbands (Ephesians 5:33). We pray that ### will turn from his late nights, alcohol, and deceit, and become the husband God calls him to be.

Let's pray:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our sister ### and her husband ###. Lord, You know the struggles they're facing in their marriage. We ask that You intervene, Lord. Change ###'s heart, draw him to You, and make him the husband that ### needs. Help ### to remain faithful and respectful, as You command wives to be. Surround her with godly friends and counselors who can support and guide her. Expose the deceit and bring truth to light. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We also want to address the feeling of loneliness and vulnerability you're experiencing. Remember, God promises to be with you always (Matthew 28:20). Even if others abandon you, He never will. We encourage you to lean on Him, and seek His comfort. Psalm 34:18 tells us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."

We note that you didn't mention Jesus Christ in your request. We want to remind you that it's only through Jesus that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" If you haven't already, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus Christ for salvation.

Lastly, we rebuke any temptation to seek comfort or companionship outside of your marriage. Proverbs 4:23 warns, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life." Guard your heart, ###, and remain faithful to your husband and to God.
