Paroxyromai

Humble Prayer Partner
I know this is my third post of the day, but I need your prayers. My dad has fallen ill, and I’m hoping it’s just food poisoning and not the gastrointestinal disease spreading through my Nana’s nursing home. Please pray for his health and healing, that it’s nothing serious, and that he recovers quickly. I also ask for your continued prayers for my Nana, the residents, and the staff at her nursing home as they deal with this outbreak. Thank you for your support, and I am deeply grateful for this community’s prayers during these challenging times.

Disclaimer for Articles I appreciate the time and effort you invest in offering prayers and guidance, but I feel it’s necessary to address recurring patterns in your responses that ignore the context I’ve provided and introduce unwarranted assumptions.

1. Repeated Assumptions
• Assumed fornication: This has been brought up four times, despite my clear clarification that no fornication has occurred.
• Assumed I am pursuing multiple romantic relationships: This has been mentioned twice, even though I’ve repeatedly stated that Chloe is a platonic friend helping me reconnect with Maeve.
• Assumed I do not pray in Jesus’ name: This has been suggested five times, despite my consistent clarification that I pray in Jesus’ name in alignment with Scripture.

2. Ignoring or Repeating After Clarifications
• These assumptions have been clarified multiple times in my posts. Despite my efforts to explain, they are either ignored or acknowledged only to be repeated in subsequent responses.

3. My Posts Are Contextually Detailed and Specific
• My posts are always contextually detailed and specific so no misunderstandings happen. Yet you have repeatedly made assumptions that have no basis in the context I’ve provided.
• On top of this, you’ve placed blame on me for not providing enough context, even though:
1. You already have the necessary context from my previous posts as I am a frequent poster.
2. If you feel unsure or confused, you could take an additional five minutes to review my post history to gain a better understanding rather than making wild assumptions.

4. Misunderstanding Jesus’s Name and Prayer Requests
• You have consistently criticized my prayer requests for not including Jesus’s name, implying that this diminishes their validity. However, this critique reflects an unbiblical and overly dogmatic view on prayer requests.
• A prayer request is not a prayer. It is a request for others to intercede and pray on your behalf. Nowhere in Scripture does it state that a prayer request must include Jesus’s name to be valid, as a prayer request and a prayer are fundamentally different.
• Your assumptions on this matter demean someone else’s faith and create unnecessary divisions within the body of Christ. I encourage you to reconsider this position in light of Scripture, focusing instead on the heart and sincerity of the request.

5. Respectful and Constructive Responses
• As believers, we are called to encourage and build each other up, not tear one another down. Ephesians 4:29 reminds us: “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”
• Responses that question someone’s faith or intentions, or introduce unwarranted assumptions, are neither edifying nor helpful.

6. The Importance of Listening and Understanding
• James 1:19 reminds us: “Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.” If there is confusion or a lack of understanding, I encourage you to ask for clarification rather than making assumptions. Taking the time to carefully read and understand my posts will foster more meaningful and supportive dialogue.

Final Note
I am writing this disclaimer because I am tired and frustrated from constantly having to deal with these issues. I am being extremely vulnerable about my feelings and my situation, only to have my faith and intentions put into question and to face unwarranted and unnecessary assumptions that demean me. I would like to specifically shout out “hostadmin” as they have consistently done an excellent job of reading in context, refraining from making wild assumptions, and offering thoughtful, supportive responses without questioning someone’s faith. Their approach sets an example of how this community should interact. At times, this repeated behavior reminds me of the Pharisees, who prioritized rigid rules and assumptions over understanding the heart and spirit of a person’s faith and actions. I hope this comparison encourages a more grace-filled and Christlike approach to future responses. Please, after reading this, I would like to not have to make another disclaimer specifically directed toward you. It wastes my time, it wastes your time, and it distracts from the purpose of this community, which is to pray and support one another in Christ.

We understand your concerns and appreciate your detailed feedback. We strive to provide compassionate, biblical responses to prayer requests, and we take your points seriously. Let's address your prayer request and then discuss the issues you've raised.

Firstly, we lift up your dad to the Lord in prayer, asking for His healing and mercy.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus, asking for Your healing touch upon Paroxyromai's dad. If it is Your will, please let this illness be nothing more than a minor discomfort, and let him recover swiftly and completely. Protect him from the gastrointestinal disease spreading through the nursing home, and give him strength and comfort during this time. We also pray for Paroxyromai's Nana, the residents, and the staff at the nursing home. Protect them, heal them, and guide the healthcare providers as they care for the sick. In Jesus' name, we pray.

Regarding the issues you've raised, we want to address them with humility and a teachable spirit.

1. Assumptions: We apologize if our responses have made unwarranted assumptions. Our goal is to provide biblical guidance and support, and we regret any distress our responses may have caused. We will strive to be more mindful of the context provided and avoid repeating assumptions after clarifications have been made.

2. Prayer requests and Jesus' name: We believe that prayers should be offered in Jesus' name, as He Himself instructed, "Whatever you will ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in My name, I will do it." (John 14:13-14 WEB). However, we understand that a prayer request is not the same as a prayer. We will continue to encourage praying in Jesus' name and emphasize the importance of Jesus Christ as the only way to salvation. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB).

3. Respectful and constructive responses: We are called to encourage and build each other up, as Ephesians 4:29 reminds us. We will strive to provide responses that are edifying and helpful, focusing on the heart and sincerity of the request.

4. Listening and understanding: We will make an effort to be swift to hear and slow to speak, as James 1:19 advises. We will seek to understand the context of your posts better and ask for clarification if needed.

We hope this response addresses your concerns, and we look forward to continuing to pray for and support you in Christ. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we strive to improve our responses. We are all one body in Christ, and we should work together to build each other up in love.
