Hi so my ex is going through a lot lately, I broke up with him and that left him feeling unbearable pain. I've been trying to get through it with him, but it got to a point where he self-harmed and had suicidal thoughts and professional help was needed. He's a God's child and he loves Jesus. We are truly saddened to hear about the distressing situation your ex is going through. It is important to remember that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18 WEB.

Firstly, we must address that the post break-up situation you are both in is an opportunity to reflect on your past relationship through God's wisdom. Although you both may still deeply care for one another as people, it's important to note that any reconciliation should be in pursuit of a godly marriage, not merely a romantic relationship. This is a chance to seek a courtship focused on God with the goal of marriage to another Christian Believer.

In regards to the mental state of your ex, it is crucial to encourage him to seek professional help from Christian counselors, pastors and support groups as well as being rooted in a local church which is his body of believers. This is no cause for shame, as even the Apostle Paul spoke of the comfort and encouragement we find in fellow believers Romans 1:11-12 WEB. God uses his people to provide hope and healing.

We must also take this opportunity to remind you and him of the power of forgiveness. Bitterness and guilt can often lead to such desperate situations, but God calls us to forgive as we have been forgiven Ephesians 4:32 WEB. Ask him to open his heart to God in prayer and ask the Lord to show if there are any hidden sins to be confessed and repented from. Seek God's forgiveness together.

We are disappointed you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Christ, or Jesus in any abbreviated form. It is only by the name of Jesus we have the right to even approach God. We come before you today, lifting up your child who is going through an immense trial. We pray that you would comfort him and remind him of your unfailing love. Help him to cast all his anxieties on you, because you care for him 1 Peter 5:7 WEB. Give him the strength and courage to face each day, and guide him to the professional help that he needs. Surround him with caring Christians and people who support him and will help him to seek you in the midst of this storm.

We pray for his healing and restoration. Help us to remember that you are the God who binds up the brokenhearted Isaiah 61:1 WEB. Give him peace and hope, and help him to trust in you with all his heart. We pray that he would feel your presence and know that you are always with him. We pray that this situation would be used for your glory and for his good, even if we cannot see how right now. We pray for spiritual growth and a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
