Gysham

Disciple of Prayer
My husband has been with a company for a year in October. He has worked hard for this company sometimes 6 weeks at a time without coming home. He’s worked over time weeks on end. Probably the companies smartest and hardest most loyal employee they have had. Always looking at it as his company in ways of taking care of customers and jobs. Looking out for his boss because if he didn’t know something then it could jeopardize the entire company kind of thing. My husband worked thanksgiving and had just recently got his brother on out there with the same company. At thanksgiving my husband talked to one of the older men on crew about covering the only job going right now for Christmas holidays which was a night job that he and his brother were working. It was for 3 days/nights. It only needed one man maybe 2 and there were 2 guys out there. The owner decided that the 2 guys covering were covering for his son and his brothers father in law whom had only been out there for 2 days as it was. So the owners son and the owners brothers father in law could be off for Christmas but my husband and his brother were suppose to stay apparently and work through Christmas. The owner himself was at home and so was his brother. My husband knowing full well that he had talked to the other guy about covering and having been the only employee to work weeks and weeks on end decided he and his brother were coming home on the Monday before Christmas because my husband had to go get a puppy for our son, which was seven hours away. His brother and him left at the same exact time on Monday. We had Christmas and they both turned around and drove back out to the job site on Thursday. The boss let them work Thursday night and then turned around and called only my husband first thing Friday morning to fire him over the phone. Did not call the brother he did the exact same thing and had only been working there for one month. My husband felt total betrayal because he has worked his butt off for the man. He had never had a write up or been in trouble. He fully expected a stern talking or even being written up maybe even another probation period. But to fire only one brother one day after Christmas and not the other is by far the most wrong thing a owner of a company could do. Now we are left after Christmas with no income and no way to pay bills that are already behind. My prayer is that God will open the door to a new place of employment immediately or allow the owner to see how wrong what he just did was and correct the situation. This is a very small company and my husband as been loyal to this man in ways no other employee has been and then some. To treat someone that way when there was other ways to handle it. Other companies they worked with were beyond shocked as well and said it was wrong. One brother and not the other when it was both of them. I feel sick and lost and scared because we are already behind.

We understand the distress and concern that you and your husband are experiencing due to his sudden job loss. Let's bring this situation to the Lord in prayer and seek His guidance and provision.

Firstly, we must remember that God is our provider and that He cares for us. As it says in Matthew 6:25-34 WEB:
Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they? Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan? Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin, yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won’t he much more clothe you, you of little faith? Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s trouble is enough for the day.

We must also remember that all things are under the control of God. Romans 8:28 WEB, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Though this situation is difficult, God can use it for good.

Let's pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up Gysham and her husband, who are facing a sudden job loss and financial strain. Lord, You know their needs and the injustice they feel. We pray that You will open the doors to a new place of employment for her husband, a place where he will be valued and treated fairly and where his hard work will be rewarded.

Lord, we also pray for the owner of the company. We pray that You will soften his heart and help him see the wrong that has been done. We pray that he will be guided by Your wisdom and that he will act in a way that honors You.

Father, we thank You that You are our provider and that You care for us. We trust in Your promise to provide for all our needs. We ask that You will help Gysham and her husband to trust in You during this time of uncertainty. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, knowing that You care for them.

We pray that Gysham and her husband will seek You first in all things, and that they will grow closer to You during this trial. We pray that Your will be done in their lives and that they will be strengthened and encouraged by Your unfailing love.

Lord, we also pray for their financial needs. We ask that You will provide for them and help them to manage their finances in a way that honors You. We pray that they will be good stewards of the resources You provide.

Finally, Lord, we pray that Gysham and her husband will be a light for You in the workplace. We pray that they will be a testimony of Your love and faithfulness to those around them.

Father, we present this prayer to You in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ. We ask that You will guide them in Your will. We pray that Your will be done in their lives.

In Jesus' name.

We encourage Gysham and her husband to trust in the Lord and to seek Him in all things. We encourage them to be patient and to wait on the Lord's timing. We encourage them to be wise and discerning in their job search and in their financial decisions.

In addition to prayer, we encourage Gysham and her husband to take practical steps to address their situation. We encourage them to update their resume, to network with others in their industry, and to apply for jobs that are a good fit for their skills and experience. We encourage them to be proactive in their job search and to trust that God is at work behind the scenes.

We also encourage them to seek godly counsel and wisdom from other believers. We encourage them to be open and honest about their situation and to accept help and support from others when it is offered.

Finally, we encourage them to forgive the owner of the company for the wrong that has been done. We encourage them to pray for him and to bless him, even as they seek justice and fair treatment.

Gysham, we want to leave you with this verse from Philippians 4:6-8 WEB:
In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. The things which you learned, received, heard, and saw in me: do these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Dear Gysham,

We're so sorry to hear about your husband's sudden job loss. It's understandable that you both feel betrayed and worried, especially with the holidays just passed and bills to pay. We want you to know that we're thinking of you and praying for you during this challenging time.

We believe that God is in control and He sees your situation. In Psalm 147:3, it says, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We trust that He will heal your husband's heart and bring restoration to your family.

Let's pray:

"Dear Lord, we come to You today, lifting up Gysham and her husband. Lord, You know their needs and the injustice they feel. We ask that You would open doors to a new place of employment for her husband, a place where he will be valued and treated fairly. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
