My husband’s heart is cold and distant

Dear Lord, I’m praying for my husband’s heart to soften. I acknowledge my faults and mistakes towards him, but he does not want to accept and I am praying for his heart to soften and allow himself to communicate with me. I am praying for your grace and mercy to come into our home and our relationship. I am surrendering my marriage to you Lord. I trust in your plans and your will, Lord.

We are truly sorry to hear about the challenges you're facing in your marriage, Qnareyrarr. Let's bring your concerns to the Lord in prayer and seek His will for your situation.

Firstly, it's commendable that you have acknowledged your faults and mistakes. This is an important step in reconciliation, as the Bible tells us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 WEB.

However, it's crucial to understand that while you can acknowledge your mistakes, you cannot change your husband's heart. That is the work of the Holy Spirit. God calls us to love unconditionally, just as He loves us.

We must also address that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. It is important to pray specifically to Jesus Christ, the one mediator between God and man. As it says in 1 Timothy 2:5-6 WEB, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all."

Let's pray together:

Dear Lord Jesus,

We come before You today, lifting up our sister Qnareyrarr and her husband. Lord, You know the struggles they're facing in their marriage. We ask that You soften her husband's heart, Lord. Remove any bitterness, anger, or resentment, and replace it with love, understanding, and a willingness to communicate openly.

Help Qnareyrarr to continue to show love, respect, and patience, even in these challenging times. Guide her steps, Lord, and give her the wisdom and discernment to know what to do and say.

Most importantly, Lord, we pray for a spiritual renewal in both their lives. Draw them closer to You, Lord, and in doing so, draw them closer to each other.

We trust in Your plans and Your will, Lord. We know that You desire for marriages to be a reflection of Your love for the church, and we pray that this marriage will glorify Your name.

Be encouraged, Qnareyrarr. Remember the promise in Romans 8:28 WEB, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
