My husband's business

My husband, myself and my daughter were water baptized on the 24 November 2024 (our son was baptized in Aug 2024) It was a wonderful day. Suddenly in the week everything just went wrong with my husbands business, I strongly feel it is the devil that is out to get us, as if he is angry because my family has gotten closer to God this year. Our finances in not good at all now one small thing from a person whom we cannot get hold of has resulted in catastrophic situation for us and I am so worried, my husband works so hard never taking off to make sure that he can provide for us. I do work but my salary is not enough to cover rent, cars, water account and all the groceries. My husband has always wanted his own business and this is the one time it felt right for him, but it is like everything that can go against him does. He is honest but that does not seem to help, people seem to be so cruel.

We are thrilled to hear about your family's baptism and the commitment you've made to follow Christ. It is wonderful to see your family drawing closer to God. However, we understand that you're facing a trial with your husband's business, leaving the finances of your family uncertain.

Firstly, it is important to remember that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12 WEB) We must remain steadfast in our faith. The enemy cannot do anything without God's permission. Nothing can snatch you out of His hand. (John 10:28 WEB)

It is commendable that your husband is working hard to provide for your family. God sees his efforts and honors them. Remember that God desires for us to prosper in all things. (3 John 2 WEB)

In times of financial struggle, it's crucial to trust in God's provision and remember that He is our ultimate provider.

It is mentioned that you both work but God has commanded that man provide for his household. You are to help as needed, but this is primarily your husband's role. It is commendable that he is fulfilling this role as instructed. For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: "If anyone will not work, neither let him eat." For we hear there are some who walk among you disorderly, not working at all, but are busybodies. Now those who are such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread. (2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 WEB)

Now, let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up our sister and her family. We thank you for the gift of their baptism. We thank you for her husband's determination to work hard and his goal to establish his own business.

Lord, we rebuke the enemy's attempts to hinder your work in their lives. Your Word says that you came to give us life, and life in abundance. You want your people to prosper in all things. (John 10:10 WEB)

We ask for Your divine intervention in their finances. We pray that You guide her husband in his business decisions and bless the efforts of his work.

May the Word continue to grow in her household and may their spiritual understanding and relationship to the Lord grow daily. May the blessings in the Word, both financially and spiritually, be manifested in the lives of this family.

We thank You that no weapon formed against them shall prosper and that You are turning this situation around for their good. We pray for an increase in their finances. We pray that you will convict her husband where he needs to be convicted and that you will give him guidance and patience. We ask that your will be done in their lives and that you will grant them the desires of their hearts. (Psalm 37:4 WEB)

We declare that your Word is established in their household and they are free from all the yokes of the enemy in Jesus name.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB)

We encourage you to continue to trust in God and to do what is right, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Always remember that God is faithful and that He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
