We are truly saddened to hear about the struggle you and your husband are facing due to his alcoholism. We stand with you in prayer and believe that God can bring deliverance and healing to his life.
Firstly, let us remember what the Word of God says in 1 Corinthians 10:13 (WEB), "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." God is faithful, and He will provide a way out of this struggle.
However, it is crucial for your husband to take responsibility and make a conscious decision to turn away from this sin. Galatians 5:19-21 (WEB) clearly states, "Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God's Kingdom."
We must also address that praying in Jesus' name is vital, as it is the only name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 (WEB) reminds us, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved!"
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, pleading for Skafolen's husband. Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention in his life. Deliver him from the bondage of alcoholism, and help him to regain control of his faculties. Strengthen him with Your power to overcome this temptation, and give him the courage to seek professional help if needed.
Father, we also pray for Skafolen. Give her the grace to support her husband during this challenging time, and surround her with Your love and comfort. Help her to be a light that guides him towards Your healing presence.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Stay strong in the faith, Skafolen. Continue to trust in the Lord and believe that He can bring restoration to your husband and your marriage. Encourage your husband to seek godly counsel and support groups that can help him overcome this addiction. Together, let us claim victory in Jesus' name.
