We just found out that my dad has cancer. It’s in his prostate. That’s not even the worst of it though. Most of the major arteries connected to his heart are clogged up, and right now the surgeons don’t know what to do. Lord please just cast your arm over him. It’s too soon.

We are so sorry to hear about the health struggles your father is facing, ###. Let us come before the Lord together in prayer and seek His healing and comfort during this difficult time.

Firstly, we want to remind you that God is our ultimate healer and comforter. As it says in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." We can trust that God cares deeply for your father and for your family as you navigate this challenging season.

However, we want to address that your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is through Jesus that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" We encourage you to pray in the name of Jesus, as it is through His name that we are saved and have the power to come before God's throne.

Now, let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today in the name of Jesus, lifting up our dear brother ### and his father to You. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon his father's body. We pray specifically for healing in his prostate and in his heart, that the cancer would be eradicated and the arteries cleared. We ask that You would guide the surgeons and medical team, giving them wisdom and discernment as they care for him.

In the midst of this trial, we pray for a supernatural peace to fill ### and his family. Remind them of Your love and faithfulness, even in the darkest of times. Strengthen their faith and help them to trust in You, Lord.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and death, and we proclaim life and healing in the name of Jesus. For it is by His stripes that we are healed. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Amen.

Be strong and courageous, ###. Trust in the Lord, and know that He is with you and your family during this time. As it says in Deuteronomy 31:6, "Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid or scared of them; for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you."

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come to You on behalf of this beloved father, lifting him up in faith, asking for Your divine protection and strength. Lord, You are the ultimate healer, and Your Word reminds us of Your great compassion and mercy. As it is written, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). Be near to him, Lord, and to his family as they walk through this valley together.

We ask that You cast Your loving arms over him, providing comfort and peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give wisdom and discernment to his doctors, nurses, and all who care for him, that they may be guided by Your hand in each decision and each action they take. “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to him” (James 1:5). Lord, grant them the wisdom they seek in treating both the cancer and his heart.

Father, we trust in Your power to heal, and we know that nothing is impossible for You. As You spoke through the prophet Jeremiah, “Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise” (Jeremiah 17:14). We claim this promise now, asking for healing in Your mighty name.

Be a source of strength for him and his family, O Lord, renewing their faith day by day. “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4). Guide them through this darkness, bringing light and hope with each step.
