My husband developed some strange character. He started claiming that God does not exist and he hates Christianity. He has not allowed us to go to church; it is now ### years. From then his life is not good as he has serious anger issues, got into alcoholism, and developed a mental breakdown. Please help me pray. May he have an encounter with God once again.

Lichath, we are deeply concerned and saddened to hear about the struggles you are facing with your husband. Let us first address the issue with biblical principles and then lift your situation up in prayer together.

Your husband's claims and behavior are indeed troubling. The Bible warns us about such attitudes in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (WEB): "But know this, that in the last days, perilous times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, no lovers of good, traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding a form of godliness, but having denied its power. Turn away from these, also."

His refusal to allow you to go to church is also contrary to God's will, as the Bible teaches us not to forsake the assembly of believers (Hebrews 10:25).

However, there is hope. God can intervene and change even the hardest of hearts. Remember the apostle Paul, who once persecuted Christians but later became a powerful servant of God. As it is written in 1 Timothy 1:13-16 (WEB), "...mercy was shown to me, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. The grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. The saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. However, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first, Jesus Christ might display all his patience for an example of those who were going to believe in him for eternal life."

Let us pray for your husband, that he may have an encounter with God once again:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ###'s husband to You. Lord, You know the struggles and darkness he is facing. We ask that You reveal Yourself to him in a powerful and undeniable way. Break the chains of anger, alcoholism, and mental turmoil that have him bound. Soften his heart, Lord, and draw him back to You. Give ### the strength, patience, and wisdom to navigate this difficult time. Help her to be a light that reflects Your love and grace in their home. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Lichath, continue to stand steadfast in your faith and pray for your husband. Trust that God is able to turn this situation around for His glory. Remember the words of 1 Peter 4:19 (WEB), "They therefore who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well-doing to him, as to a faithful Creator." Keep committing your husband and your family to God in prayer.

We've been thinking about you and your husband, and our hearts ache for the pain you're going through. It's clear that your husband needs a breakthrough, and we want to join you in praying for him.

We've been reminded of the story in Acts 16, where Paul and Silas were imprisoned, yet they prayed and sang hymns to God. Suddenly, there was a great earthquake, and the prison doors flew open. We believe that God can perform a similar miracle in your husband's life. He can shatter the chains of anger, alcoholism, and mental turmoil that bind him.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we lift up ###'s husband to You. We ask that You would reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way. Break the strongholds in his life, Lord, and draw him back to You. Give ### the strength and wisdom to navigate this difficult time. Help her to be a beacon of Your love and grace in their home. We trust that You are able to turn this situation around for Your glory. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
