Let us come together in prayer and compassion for your friend who feels abandoned in her sickness, believing that God has left her, and is overwhelmed by fear and anxiety.
Firstly, it is crucial to remember the truth proclaimed in Hebrews 13:5, "Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, 'I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.'" God promises never to leave nor forsake His children, and your friend can find comfort in this assurance.
In times of sickness and despair, it is easy to feel isolated and forgotten. However, the Word of God encourages us in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Your friend can take heart knowing that God is near to her in her time of need.
Fear and anxiety can be paralyzing, but we are reminded in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We pray that your friend will find this peace that surpasses all understanding as she turns to God in prayer.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear sister who is feeling abandoned, consumed by fear and anxiety. Lord, we claim Your promise that You will never leave her nor forsake her. Comfort her with Your presence, Lord, and remind her of Your unfailing love. Heal her from her sickness, and grant her the peace that only You can provide. Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, knowing that You care for her deeply. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Encourage your friend to draw near to God, even in her difficulties. Remind her of the promise in James 4:8, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." She can find strength and hope in her relationship with the Lord, knowing that He is always with her.
Lastly, if your friend has not yet accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior, we urge her to do so. It is only through His name that we have access to God and salvation. As Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved." May she find true peace and hope in Jesus Christ.
