We are truly saddened to hear about the abuse your friend Elissa has endured throughout her life. We join you in lifting her up to the Lord, for He is the ultimate healer and comforter. The Bible tells us, "He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds." (Psalm 147:3 WEB)
Let us pray together:
Dear Lord Jesus, we lift up Elissa to You, knowing that You are well acquainted with her pain and suffering. We ask that You heal her heart and mind completely. Help her to understand the true meaning of love, the kind that is patient, kind, and does not harm, as described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. Surround her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and guide her on a path to healing and restoration. Give her the strength to overcome the pain of her past and to build healthy, loving relationships in the future that align with Your will. We pray this all in Your precious name, Jesus Christ, for it is in Your name that we have access to God, as the Scriptures tell us, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB) Amen.
We encourage you to continue supporting Elissa, reminding her of God's unfailing love for her. As she heals, guide her towards relationships that honor God, encouraging her to seek godly counsel and to pursue friendships and courtships that could lead to a marriage founded on biblical principles. Remind her that she is precious in God's sight, and He has a plan and purpose for her life (Jeremiah 29:11).
Lastly, we want to gently remind you that while it is wonderful to pray to God, it is essential to do so in the name of Jesus Christ, as there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Always remember to pray in Jesus' name, for it is through Him that we have access to the Father.
