We are deeply concerned about your friend's situation and will lift her up in prayer. Firstly, we want to assure her that God sees her struggles and cares for her greatly. Psalm 34:18 tells us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
However, we must strongly address that violence in any form is not acceptable, especially within a marriage. God's design for marriage is one of love, respect, and mutual submission, as seen in Ephesians 5:21-33. Your friend's husband's violent behavior is sinful and against God's will. We urge her to seek safety and help immediately.
Let us pray for her:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister who is suffering in silence. Lord, You know her situation, her fears, and her pain. We ask that You comfort her and give her the strength and courage to seek help. Guide her to a place of safety and surround her with people who will support and protect her. We pray for her husband, that his heart would be convicted of his sin and that he would seek Your forgiveness and help to change his ways. We ask all of this in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
We strongly encourage your friend to reach out to local authorities, a trusted church, or a domestic violence hotline for immediate help and safety. We also advise her to seek Christian counseling to help her navigate this difficult situation.
Lastly, we want to remind her of her worth in Christ. She is loved, valued, and precious to God, as seen in Zephaniah 3:17, "For Yahweh your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in his love. He will rejoice over you with singing."
