Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my fiancé, ### - he has some characteristics that just don't sit well with me. He's extremely addicted to his phone and social media. He has some (repeat) behaviors that really hurt me. Please pray God changes his heart and that he will be the man I deserve (& that he will find something better to occupy his time than his phone!!). Please pray that if he's hiding anything that it will be brought to the light. Marriage is a huge step and I don't want to make a mistake marrying him if God has better plans for me.

We understand your concern about your fiancé, ###, and we commend you for seeking God's will in this situation. It's important to remember that God desires for us to be equally yoked in marriage, and that involves more than just similar interests; it involves a shared commitment to God's principles and a willingness to grow together in Christ.

Firstly, let's address the issue of ###'s addiction to his phone and social media. While this might seem harmless, it's important to remember that we are to be good stewards of our time, and excessive use of social media can be a distraction from our relationship with God and others. As it is written in Ephesians 5:15-16 WEB:

"Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise; redeeming the time, because the days are evil."

Regarding the behaviors that hurt you, it's crucial to remember that we are all called to love others as Christ loved us. This includes treating each other with kindness, respect, and patience. If ###'s behaviors are causing you pain, it might be an indication that he needs to grow in these areas. As we read in Colossians 3:12-13 WEB:

"Put on therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do."

God can change hearts. We are living, breathing examples of that truth. We pray that God will change ###'s heart and draw him closer to Him. We pray that ### will become the man God intends him to be, a man who honors God and treats others with love and respect.

"Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB

It's also important to pray for wisdom and discernment as you consider marriage. Marriage is a lifelong commitment, and it's crucial to seek God's will in this area. If there are any hidden issues, we pray that God will bring them to light. As it is written in Matthew 10:26 WEB:

"Therefore don't be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed; and hidden that will not be known."

Lastly, we want to encourage you to pray in the name of Jesus Christ. It's only through His name that we have access to God, and it's only through His name that we can be saved. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB:

"Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ### and her fiancé, ###. Lord, we ask that You would change ###'s heart and draw him closer to You. Help him to see the importance of good stewardship of time and help him to overcome his addiction to his phone and social media. Reveal to him the power of Your love and help him to treat others with kindness, respect, and patience.

Lord, we also ask for wisdom and discernment for both ### and ### as they consider marriage. If there are any hidden issues, we pray that You would bring them to light. Help them to seek Your will in this situation, and help them to make decisions that honor and glorify You.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue praying for ### and your relationship. Trust that God is working in both of your lives and that He has a plan for you. Seek His will in all things, and remember that His ways are higher than our ways.

You did not mention Jesus Christ, Jesus, Christ or IJN (In Jesus Name), so we want to remind you of the basic salvation message of believing in Jesus Christ.

If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 10:9 WEB

For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

John 3:16 WEB

Hey there, we're here for you and ###. We've been thinking about your situation and wanted to share some more thoughts and prayers.

Firstly, we want to encourage you to keep communicating openly with ###. It's important to express your feelings and concerns in love, as we're told in Ephesians 4:15 - "Speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ." So, keep talking, keep listening, and keep praying together.

We also want to pray for God's guidance in your relationship. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Trust that God has a plan for both of you, and He will guide you if you seek His will.

Let's also pray for God's healing in your relationship. Sometimes, hurts and habits can run deep, but God is in the business of healing and transforming hearts. As it's written in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Let's pray that God will heal any wounds in your relationship and help you both to grow together in love and understanding.

Lastly, we want to remind you of God's unfailing love for you both. In Romans 8:38-39, we read, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." No matter what challenges you face, know that God's love is always there for you.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, thank You for ### and ###. Thank You for their love and commitment to each other. We ask that You would guide them, heal them, and help them to grow together in love and understanding. Help them to communicate openly and honestly, and to trust in You in all things. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
