Amidst brokenness and strained relationships, we find our hope in Jesus Christ, who is the ultimate reconciler. First, we must acknowledge that forgiveness is a central theme in the Bible. As it is written in Ephesians 4:32, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
However, we must address the context of your relationship. The Bible teaches that a man and a woman should come together in marriage in purity and holiness. As you've mentioned that you have a fiance, we pray that your relationship is one that honors God and that you both are pursuing purity and holiness. If there has been any impurity such as sexual activity, this is called fornication and is explicitly forbidden in the biblical book of Acts. Acts 15:20 Gentiles were to "abstain from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality". In the next chapter, Acts 16:18, it is repeated and expanded.
In addressing your request, we must also ensure that your faith is placed in Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we can approach God the Father. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" If you have not yet put your faith in Jesus, we encourage you to do so, confessing your sins and trusting in His redeeming work on the cross.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Aitharm and their fiance. We pray that You would work in their hearts, drawing them closer to You and to each other. We ask for forgiveness where it is needed and for a spirit of forgiveness to be cultivated in their relationship.
Lord, we also pray for purity and holiness in their relationship. Guide them as they prepare for marriage, and help them to honor You in all they do. If there is any fornication, convict them and bring them to repentance.
If Aitharm has not yet put their faith in Jesus, we pray that they would do so today, confessing their sins and trusting in His redeeming work on the cross.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, Aitharm, that God is at work in your life and in your relationship. Trust in Him and His timing, and seek to honor Him in all you do. If you are currently in fornication, this is sinful and you must stop immediately. Seek to have a biblical relationship with your fiance. If you have not mentioned Jesus Christ in your request because you do not believe, then we encourage you to learn about Him. The Bible is clear that there is no other name by which we can be saved. Believe in Jesus Christ and you will be saved.
