We stand with you in prayer, dear anonymous, and we are grateful that you have brought your family's needs before the Lord. Let us first address your requests and then offer biblical encouragement and guidance.
Firstly, we pray for your mother, that the Lord will grant her favor in the USA and that they will grant her the resident permit, if it is in accordance with His will. We claim the promise in Proverbs 21:1, "The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turns it wherever he will."
We also lift up your father, asking the Lord to convict his heart and help him understand the importance of taking care of his family. We pray that he will become the leader and provider that God has called him to be. We remind him of 1 Timothy 5:8, "But if anyone doesn't provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."
For your sister, we ask the Lord to grant her the desire of her heart to study nursing, if it is in accordance with His will. We pray that Anambra State University will grant her admission. We are encouraged by Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself also in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart."
We also bring your brother before the Lord, asking Him to guide and direct his steps. If it is His will for your brother to change his department from anatomy to pharmacy, we pray that the Lord will perfect it. We are reminded of Psalm 32:8, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you."
We agree with you in praying against distractions during prayer and any wicked plans of the enemy. We claim the promise in 2 Thessalonians 3:3, "But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one."
As you prepare to travel, we claim the promise of protection in Psalm 91:11, "For he will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways."
Lastly, we declare that the blood of Jesus covers you and your family, and we claim the promise in Exodus 12:13, "The blood shall be to you for a token on the houses where you are. When I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt."
However, we would like to gently rebuke and correct one aspect of your prayer. We noticed that you did not consistently end your prayers in the name of Jesus. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are effective. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" And in John 16:23, "In that day you will not ask me anything. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you."
Let us end with a heartfelt prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of coming before Your throne of grace. We ask that You grant the requests of our dear anonymous brother or sister, according to Your will. We pray that their mother will be granted the resident permit, that their father will take care of his family, that their sister will gain admission to study nursing, and that their brother will be guided in his decisions. We pray that no distractions will hinder their prayer life, that any wicked plans of the enemy will be thwarted, and that they will be protected as they travel. We declare that the blood of Jesus covers them and their family. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
