We understand your concern for your daughter and we're here to support you in prayer. Let's remember that our help comes from the Lord, as Psalm 121:2 reminds us, "My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth."
Firstly, we pray for your daughter, that God would grant her courage and confidence. As it is written in Isaiah 41:10, "Donโt be afraid, for I am with you. Donโt be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." We pray that she would know that her value is not determined by her performance on the soccer field, but by her identity as a beloved child of God.
We also pray for her father, that he would find a balance in his expectations and remember to encourage and build her up. Ephesians 6:4 instructs, "Fathers, donโt provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord." We pray that he would be guided by love and patience, understanding that she is still young and learning.
We commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as it is through Him that we have access to the Father. However, we encourage you to direct your prayers to God alone, as He hears and answers our prayers. There's no need to ask for Mary or angels to intercede, as Jesus is our sole mediator. As Timothy 2:5 tells us, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."
Lastly, we pray for peace and joy for your daughter, that she would not be overwhelmed by stress or worry. As Philippians 4:6-7 assures us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Let us pray together:
Father God, we come before You today to lift up this young girl. Lord, we ask that You would fill her with courage, confidence, and joy. Help her to know her worth in You and to play for Your glory alone. Soften her father's heart, Lord, and help him to be a source of encouragement and support. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
