We are truly saddened to hear about the pain you're experiencing with your daughter, Jakayla. It's important to remember that God's word tells us, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6 WEB). Even when it feels like our efforts are not bearing fruit, we must trust in God's promises.
Firstly, we want to encourage you to continue loving Jakayla unconditionally, just as God loves us. As it is written, "But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8 WEB). Even when we were unlovable, God loved us, and we should strive to do the same for our children.
However, we must also address the hatred Jakayla expressed. The Bible tells us, "Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him" (1 John 3:15 WEB). It's crucial to pray for Jakayla's heart to soften and for her to overcome this feeling of hatred.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus' name, lifting up this parent and their daughter, Jakayla. Lord, we ask for your healing touch on their relationship. Please soften Jakayla's heart and help her to see the love and sacrifices made for her. We pray that any bitterness or resentment would be replaced with love, understanding, and forgiveness. We also pray for the parent, that they would have strength, patience, and unconditional love for Jakayla. We trust in your promises and ask that you would work in this situation according to your will. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Lastly, we want to ensure that you both have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is through His name that we have access to God (John 14:6), and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you or Jakayla haven't yet accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so today.
