Disciple of Prayer
My husband and best friend of 20 years is leaving me for another woman, he has completely rejected and abandoned me. I have been dealing with insufferable abandonment/betrayal trauma and grief. Two days ago I was very suddenly let go from my job. My older daughter has been negatively impacted by this situation as well. I am in over my head with financial depts I cannot get out of. The grief and depression I feel I cannot put into words. I’ve lost all purpose. I’m 46 years old. I feel forsaken, humiliated, and rejected by everyone and everything I’ve ever known or loved. I have no one aside from medical professional support. I feel abandoned, unwanted, and unloved, I’m tired and suffering. I don’t know how to keep going.

We are truly heartbroken to hear about your situation, and we are here to stand with you in prayer and to offer biblical encouragement during this dark time.

Firstly, we want to remind you that even in the midst of your struggles, God has not forsaken you. He promises in Hebrews 13:5,.."I will never leave you nor forsake you." Even when it feels like all is lost, God is still there, working on your behalf.

Regarding your marriage, we want to emphasize the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. It is clear that your husband has broken his covenant with you, and this is a grave sin in God's eyes. In Malachi 2:16, it says, .."'For I hate divorce,' says Yahweh, the God of Israel, 'and him who covers his garment with violence!' says Yahweh of Armies. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of his youth." We will pray for your husband's heart to turn back to you and to God, but we also want to affirm your value and worth in the eyes of God. You are a precious daughter of the King, and your identity is not defined by your marital status. In Psalm 34:18, it says,"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." God is the "husband" mentioned in Isaiah 54:5, "For your Maker is your husband; Yahweh of Armies is his name. The Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer. He is called the God of the whole earth."

We also want to address the feelings of abandonment and rejection you are experiencing. It is important to remember that God will never reject or abandon you. In Psalm 27:10, it says, .."For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but Yahweh will take me up." Even when it feels like everyone else has turned away, God is still there, ready to comfort and support you.

Regarding your financial struggles, we want to encourage you to trust in God's provision. In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus reminds us not to worry about what we will eat or drink or wear, but to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. God knows your needs, and He will provide for you in His own way and timing. We will pray for God's wisdom and guidance as you navigate your financial situation.

Lastly, we want to remind you that your hope and purpose are found in Jesus Christ alone. It is only by faith in Jesus' life, death, and resurrection that we can be saved and have eternal life. Colossians 3:1-4 says, "If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory" It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. In Acts 4:12, it says,.."There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you today, lifting up our sister in need. Lord, she feels forsaken, humiliated, and rejected, but we know that You will never leave her nor forsake her. We pray for Your comfort and peace to surround her in this dark hour. We pray for her husband, that his heart would turn back to her and to You. We pray for Your provision and guidance in her financial struggles. We pray that You would heal her broken heart and restore her hope and purpose in You. We also pray that her daughter will be protected from negativity and be able to see the saving grace of Jesus. We ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We urge you to stay strong in the faith and encouraged all the more to turn to Jesus in prayer as the source and solution to all your problems. The name of Jesus should be a source of encouragement to you and never forgotten or intentionally not mentioned like we notice in your prayer request. Jesus is your Saviour and His Father is your Father as well. Turn to Him in prayer and make sure to tell your daughter every day to put her two flat feet on the floor, look heavenward, and say Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Your Name!

We're here with you, holding you up in prayer as you navigate through this storm. It's like you're in the eye of a hurricane, and it's understandable that you feel overwhelmed and alone. But remember, even in the darkest night, the stars still shine, and God is always there, loving you and watching over you.

We want to remind you of the power of community. The Bible tells us in Galatians 6:2, "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." You're not alone in this; we're here, and there are many others who will stand with you in prayer and support. Don't hesitate to reach out to your church family, friends, or even support groups. You're not a burden; you're a sister in need, and we're here to help carry your load.

We also want to encourage you to keep seeking God's face. In Psalm 34:14, it says, "Seek peace and pursue it." Even in your pain, keep pursuing God. He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). Keep crying out to Him, keep reading His word, and keep trusting in His love for you.

Lastly, we want to remind you that God is working in your situation. In Romans 8:28, it says, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Trust that even in this, God is working out His good purpose in your life.

Let's pray together: "Dear Lord, we come to You today on behalf of our sister. Lord, she's hurting, she's feeling abandoned, but we know that You are always there. Lord, we pray for Your comfort to surround her, for Your peace to calm her storms. Lord, we pray for her husband, that his heart would turn back to You and to her. Lord, we pray for provision and guidance in her financial struggles. Lord, we pray for her daughter, that she would be protected and see Your saving grace. Lord, we thank You that You are working all things together for her good. We ask all these in Jesus' name. Amen."

Keep trusting, keep seeking, and keep holding on. You're not alone; we're here with you, and so is God.
