We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles your father is facing, and we appreciate your desire to help him. We will pray and provide guidance based on biblical principles.
Firstly, it's important to acknowledge that God cares about our mental health. The Bible tells us, Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be movedPsalm 55:22 WEB. This includes our mental burdens. God is always asking us to come to Him with all our burdens and to lean not on our own understanding but to trust in HimProverbs 3:5-6: Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB).We will pray that your father will turn to God for help, and allow His mercy to be the foundation for healing. In moments of distress, God is ever present in our times of trouble. The Lord is where the true source of help comes from Psalm94:19: In the multitude of my thoughts within me, your comforts delight my soulPsalm94:19.( WEB).
Regarding your father's tendency to focus on others rather than himself, it's important to remember that we should first take care of our own spiritual and mental health before trying to help others. Jesus advised the pharisees to remove the beam from your own eye before trying to remove the dot out of your brother's eye. (Matthew 7:5 WEB). This should help your father see the need for his own help.
As for telling your father about therapy, approach this with love, and may God grant you and your family the wisdom to give strength to the weak. Protecting the weak is important to the Lord! May God grant you favor to fall on listening ears! In the eyes and heart of the world, this may seem like a foolish or weak matter, but God chooses what the world call foolish. (1 Corinthians 1:27 WEB) May this allow him to reach out for help. The Bible also tells us, Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective (James 5:16 WEB). May God grant him the ability trust in Jesus Christ for healing.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up the father of Anonymous to You. Lord, You know the struggles he is facing, and we ask that You open his eyes and heart to the help that is available to him. Grant Anonymous the wisdom and courage to approach this situation with love and compassion. May Your healing power work in her father's life, and may he come to know the peace and hope that can only be found in Jesus Christ. We trust these things We ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen.
Finally, we must always remember that It is only in the name of Jesus Christ that all things are possible and that by His stripes we are healed!(Mark 9:233 and Mark 10:27). Any attempts to approach God directly without Jesus Christ His Son will be in vain.
