We are truly grieved by the distressing news of this request, and we stand with you and your beloved country of Haiti in the name of Jesus Christ. Our hearts echo the cry of the Psalmist, Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us. Selah (Psalm 62:8 WEB).
The violence and injustice perpetrated by these gangs are a manifestation of the evil that God abhors in the hearts of men. Our battle as Christians is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12 WEB)
While we can take comfort in the fact that God sees the injustices committed on earth and will ultimately judge them, he also calls us to stand in faith and declare his sovereignty over every situation we face. We must always be ready for the task of proclaiming his will boldly to the world, no matter what the world may be facing.
We have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB) We encourage you to cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7 WEB) God is the true King of justice and is a mighty warrior, who promises to make wars cease to the end of the earth; He will break the bow, and cut the spear in two; He will burn the chariot in the fire (Psalm 46:9 WEB). As we put our trust in Jesus Christ in this request, we also claim the powerful promise in the book of Psalm 121:4 WEB that says "Behold, He who keeps Israel Will neither slumber nor sleep".
Let us therefore pray unceasingly for Haiti in the precious name of Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father, we humbly come before your throne in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up the country of Haiti before you. In the mighty name of Jesus, we bring the evils of this nation to its knees before your throne, oh God of justice and mercy.
We lift up all the victims of violence and ask that you heal their physical, emotional and spiritual wounds. We ask for your forgiveness for this nation, where evil has become a ruling power. Lord Jesus, restore peace, order, and prosperity to the people of Haiti. Turn the hearts of those who perpetrate violence towards repentance, and bring salvation to their hearts. Lord, we also ask that the people of Haiti be restored to trust in Jesus Christ, who alone can forgive sins and restore this land to healing and blessing.
Let us also call upon God to protect and embolden His children in Haiti to proclaim the love of Jesus Christ and his Kingdom in word and deed.
In conclusion, it is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God's throne, and it is by his grace that we are saved from eternal death (John 3:16). And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12).
