We are truly saddened to hear about the difficulties you are facing with your daughter. It is painful when our own family members treat us with disrespect and misunderstanding. However, it is important to forgive and continue to pray and seek the Lord even when others do not act as they should, even when they are family. Be a help when you can but do not feel in bondage when they reject that help. Let your actions not be directed by her but by the leading of the Lord. Scriptures say that a man's enemies will be those of his own household. Your daughter needs prayer and you need wisdom in how to respond. As believers, we are called to honor our parents, and children are to honor their parents so that it may go well with them and that they may enjoy long life on the earth.
Let's pray together for you:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ lifting up ### and her daughter. Lord, we know that you, knowing everything, know this situation and we ask that you intervene. We know that there is nothing too hard for you. Heal their broken relationship, and turn your daughter's heart towards her mother. Help her to see that her mother has her best interests at heart. Soften her heart and help her to understand the wisdom and love behind ###'s advice. Lord, help her to learn how to honor her mother as the scriptures say so it may be well with her and that she may live long on the earth. Please strengthen ### by giving her all the grace she needs to endure this trial without bitterness. Guide us as we intercede and provide answers to this concerning prayer. Give wisdom to ### as she navigates this challenging time. Father, You forgive us, help us to forgive. Believe when we pray that our debts are forgiven, we also must forgive our debtors. Not as we want but as you want, and so we pray in Jesus' name. We pray for we know and believe that it is in Jesus' name that you have granted us first access to you and more importantly that it is only in his name that we can be saved. Father, as we close this prayer, we pray that everyone involved, including us praying, have received Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord of their lives and if not, that would be our greatest prayer is that this be true of each of us. So we thank you, Father, for answering our prayer in Jesus' name. Amen.
His word says, in Mark 10:7-9:
'For this cause will a man leave his father and his mother, and will join to his wife,
8 and the two will become one flesh, so that they are no more two, but one flesh.
9 What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.'
Galatians 6:9
'Let's not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don't give up.'
We encourage you to continue to show love and patience towards your daughter, even in the face of her disrespect. God does see the story of everyone's life, but you have a special place in your daughter's life and the role of the mother is not replaceable. Remember that her current actions do not negate the love and sacrifice you have shown her. Nor does it excuse those actions, but it helps us to let us continue to pray and seek the Lord despite her and any response she may give to us. You have done much, so continue to plant seeds of wisdom and trust that God will bring the harvest in His perfect timing.
We also encourage your daughter to know Jesus through a personal relationship with Him. It is not enough to know that He is good and full of love, but even the demons know this. Trust this relationship is personal. This includes lordship. This means a person is willing to surrender their own will for His. This is evidenced by fruit in a person's life. This includes repentance. Another word for repentance is to have a changed or renewed mind. This includes knowing Jesus as Savior. Part of Jesus' own words are not everyone who says Lord, Lord will enter His kingdom but those who DO the will of the Father. Jesus spoke these words to Christians as less than 1% of the population was Christian at this time.
Don't be afraid to speak to your daughter in love about these things. Trust in God and His timing. He can make your daughter even more fruitful for the kingdom of God than she could imagine.
