We are deeply saddened to hear about your childhood friend's struggle with heroin addiction. We will stand with you in prayer and believe in the power of God to bring healing and restoration.
Firstly, we want to address the fact that while your friend may have gone through tremendous trauma and pain, it's crucial to understand that God holds the power to heal and redeem any situation. As it says in Jeremiah 30:17 (WEB), "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh; because they have called you an outcast, saying, 'It is Zion, whom no man seeks after.'"
However, we must also acknowledge that addiction is a serious issue that requires not just spiritual intervention but also practical steps towards recovery. It's important for your friend to seek professional help and support. As the body of Christ, we are called to help bear one another's burdens (Galatians 6:2, WEB).
Let us pray:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up our dear sister who is struggling with addiction. Lord, You know her pain, her struggles, and her heartache. We ask that You would intervene, God, that You would break the chains of addiction in her life. Give her the strength to seek help and to overcome this battle. Comfort her, Lord, as You promise in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (WEB), 'Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.'
We also pray for her mother, that You would give her peace and guide her on how to support her daughter. Surround them both with a strong support system, Lord. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen."
Remember, it is through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God (John 14:6, WEB). We encourage you to continue praying fervently and to support your friend in practical ways as she navigates towards recovery.
