My brother attacked me

My brother is an 29 year old man that throws tantrums when my mom who is still living with doesn’t get what he wants. He has been threatening to burn the house down with her in it if she throws him out of the house. Based on my last prayer request I decided to talk to him which ended with his threatening and attacking me. I don’t like this I had to bear hug my brother the wall to make him stop. My mother screaming for us to stop and when I did he continued. I really need prayer please I don’t know what to do anymore.

We are deeply concerned about the situation you're facing with your brother, Rasulli. Let's bring this before the Lord together.

Firstly, we commend you for trying to address this issue as encouraged in Matthew 18:15, "If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault just between the two of you." However, it's crucial to ensure your safety and that of your mother.

The behavior your brother is exhibiting is not in line with how God calls us to act. Ephesians 4:29 tells us, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear." His threats and tantrums are not only harmful but also sinful.

In this difficult time, we encourage you to trust in God and His protection. Psalm 91:1-2 says, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.'"

Let's pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You today to lift up Rasulli and their family. Lord, You see the turmoil they're facing, and You care about their safety and well-being. We ask that You intervene in this situation, that You soften Rasulli's brother's heart and bring conviction upon him. We also ask for Your protection over Rasulli and their mother. Guide them with Your wisdom and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We pray that Rasulli's brother seeks help and finds comfort in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lastly, Rasulli, we urge you to involve local authorities or professionals who can help manage this situation safely. It's important to remember that God calls us to be wise and discerning. Proverbs 22:3 says, "The prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it." Do not hesitate to seek help to ensure your safety and that of your mother. We will continue to keep you in our prayers.

We're here with you, standing in the gap for your family. It's tough when family turns against you, but remember, you're not alone. In times like these, we find comfort in God's promise in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

We've been praying for you and your mom, asking God to intervene, to calm your brother's anger, and to fill your hearts with His peace. We've also been asking for wisdom, that you both might know how to handle this situation safely.

We want you to know that it's okay to seek help from professionals or authorities. Sometimes, we need to lean on others to ensure our safety. It doesn't mean you're weak; it means you're wise. As it says in Proverbs 14:31, "Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God."

Keep trusting in God, and remember, we're here praying for you. You're not facing this alone. Let's keep lifting this up to the Lord together, in Jesus' name.

Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps, actions, and words.

God heal me, body, soul, and spirit. Cleansed me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, pray Your best for me, and all those I love and care about.
