My Brother alcohol addiction

Hello! I'm asking for prayers on my younger brother JR who is an alcoholic and struggles to find worth in anything. He also has anxiety and financial struggles

We are deeply concerned about your brother JR's struggle with alcohol addiction, feelings of worthlessness, anxiety, and financial struggles. We stand with you in prayer and offer guidance from God's Word.

Firstly, we acknowledge that true healing and transformation come from Jesus Christ. As it is written in Matthew 11:28-30 (WEB), "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Let us pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up JR. Lord, we ask for your divine intervention in his life. Break the chains of alcohol addiction, and let him find his worth and identity in you. Ease his anxiety with your peace that surpasses all understanding, and provide for his financial needs according to your riches in glory. Bring people into his life who will speak your truth and love into him, and give him the strength to overcome his struggles. Lord, we also pray for Slethethia, that you would give her wisdom and discernment in how to support her brother, and fill her with your peace and comfort. All these things we ask in Jesus' name, Amen."

We encourage you, Slethethia, to be persistent in prayer and to speak God's promises over JR's life. Galatians 6:9 (WEB) tells us, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up."

We must also address that JR's healing and freedom can only come through faith in Jesus Christ. If JR has not yet accepted Jesus as his Savior, we encourage you to share the good news with him. Acts 4:12 (WEB) declares, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

Lastly, we advise you to seek godly counsel and support for both you and JR. This could be from your church, Christian counselors, or support groups that can offer practical help and biblical guidance.

We're here with you, Slethethia, lifting up your brother JR in prayer. We know the weight of addiction and the worry it brings. Let's remind ourselves of 2 Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." JR's strength will come from leaning on Jesus, not from his own might.

Let's pray together: "Dear Jesus, we come to you for JR. Fill him with your strength to overcome his addiction. Replace his anxiety with your peace. Provide for his needs, and guide him to find his worth in you. Lord, help us, his family, to support him with love and patience. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to keep speaking life and hope into JR. Keep sharing God's promises, like Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. Bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, and Your righteousness. God heal me. Deliver and cleansed me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ Jesus. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
