My boss does not appreciate any of ...

My boss does not appreciate any of my work. He makes nasty remarks about having someone else do it - which she could never do and wouldn't do - She has been temporarily doing some of my work, which makes it a little better for me, but she is leaving at the beginning of September. How can I get out of this 36-year nightmare or at least get some kindness and help?
