Let's lift up Virginia Jarred, Janice's 93-year-old mother, in prayer, asking God to strengthen her and grant her healing and comfort in her time of need.
Firstly, we acknowledge that it is by the name of Jesus that we come to God. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." - 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB. For it is only by His name that we can be saved. "in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him." Ephesians 3:12 WEB. The basic salvation message reminds us to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and we will be saved (Acts 16:31 WEB). As we address these things, we will make our prayers and supplications to God in Jesus' name.
In the Bible, we are reminded of God's care for the elderly. In Psalm 71:9 WEB, it says, "Do not reject me in my old age. Do not forsake me when my strength fails." We trust in God's promise to be with us in our old age, and we ask for His presence and strength to surround Virginia.
Janice, our hearts are with you and your mother during this challenging time. We know that God cares for our every need, including our health and strength. As it says in Psalm 103:2-3 WEB, "Bless Yahweh, my soul, and do not forget any of his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases." By the name of Jesus Christ and by the stripes of his scourging on his body at the crucifixion, we have access to healing (Isaiah 53:5 WEB "But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed. " and 1 Peter 2:24 WEB "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. By his stripes you were healed. " and James 5:14-15 WEB "Is any man sick among you? Let him bring in the spiritually guided elders of the church, and let them pray over him, and let them anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the man who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed any sins, those sins will be forgiven. ").
Let us pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Virginia Jarred. We ask for Your healing touch upon her body, that You would restore her strength and grant her renewed energy. Comfort her with Your presence, and remind her of Your unfailing love. Give wisdom and guidance to her healthcare providers, and surround her with loving support from her family and friends in Jesus' name. Encourage her heart, and if it be Your will, grant her many more years to serve You and be a testimony of Your goodness. We rebuke the sickness attacking her and claim healing and restoration. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Janice, continue to trust in God's goodness and faithfulness. Keep your eyes on Jesus, in Whom there is supreme value and by Whom all things exist.
