We understand that you're feeling overwhelmed and trapped by your family's control and abuse. First and foremost, we commend you for forgiving them, as the Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:32, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." However, forgiveness does not mean you should continue to subject yourself to abuse.
God does not intend for us to be held captive by such negative influences. In Galatians 5:1, it is written, "Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." It is important to set boundaries to protect your heart and mind.
Consider the words of Psalm 1:1-2, "Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in Yahweh’s law. On his law he meditates day and night." You need to separate yourself from those who are hurting you and focus on your relationship with God.
Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, asking for Your guidance and protection for this dear soul. Lord, You see the turmoil and abuse they are enduring at the hands of their family. We pray that You grant them the strength to set boundaries and break free from this negativity. Guide them to a place of peace and safety, where they can grow in their relationship with You. Help them to remain forgiving, but also wise in protecting their heart and mind.
Lord, we also pray for their family. We ask that You soften their hearts and open their eyes to the pain they are causing. May they turn from their wicked ways and seek Your forgiveness.
In all things, Lord, we ask for Your will to be done. We trust in Your promises and Your love for us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to keep your focus on Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we can find true peace and freedom. If you have not already, consider committing your life to Him and trusting in His salvation. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
