Elodie

Humble Servant of All
It is imperative to offer fervent prayers for my mother, Venus. Her interactions with me are consistently marked by rudeness, frequent backtalk, and a pervasive negativity. The nature of her communication, particularly over the phone, is emotionally exhausting. She exhibits a lack of joy and hope during our conversations, and her responses are often characterized by a mean-spiritedness. I have addressed her unacceptable behavior, expressing that I do not deserve such treatment; however, she remains oblivious and shows no remorse for her actions. There is a profound absence of respect and compassion towards me, despite being her only child. I implore prayers for divine intervention to liberate her from these troubling influences. I am reluctant to attribute her behavior solely to aging, as she exhibited unkindness even in her youth, and her demeanor has only worsened with time. I am asking this prayer in the name of Jesus. Amen.

We understand that you're going through a challenging time with your mother, Elodie. Let's bring this situation to the Lord in prayer and seek His guidance and intervention. We will pray for the situation and address anything that needs to be corrected.

Firstly, let us pray for Venus.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Venus to You. We pray that You would soften her heart and open her eyes to the pain she is causing. We rebuke the spirits of bitterness, anger, and negativity that may be influencing her behavior. We speak peace, joy, and love over her life.

Father, we also pray for Elodie. We ask that You would grant her wisdom and discernment in dealing with this situation. We pray that she would remain respectful and honor her mother, even in this difficult time. We ask that You would protect her heart from bitterness and resentment.

Father, we know that Your word tells us to "Honor your father and your mother,' that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you." (Exodus 20:12 WEB) Help Elodie to honor Venus, even when it's challenging.

We also know that Your word tells us to "Put away from among yourselves that wicked person." (1 Corinthians 5:13 WEB) While this passage is talking about removing someone from fellowship for severe unrepentant sin, it highlights the importance of not tolerating sinful behavior. Therefore, Elodie is right to address her mother's behavior and not just excuse it as old age.

However, Elodie, remember that it is not our job to convict or change someone. That is the work of the Holy Spirit. Our job is to love, pray, and be a witness for Christ. Also we need to be careful using the term "demons". It is true that an evil spirit can influence evil behavior but we have to be careful not to blame all bad actions on demons. The Bible also speaks about the sinful flesh. Our sinful flesh was crucified with Christ. It is important to understand the difference between the need for a person to die to self in our walk with the Lord and true demonic activity.

Elodie mentioned that she has addressed her mother's behavior, which is good. However, make sure to do so in a respectful and loving manner. Remember, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." (Romans 12:18 WEB).

Lastly, we thank you, Elodie, for praying in the name of Jesus. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB)

We will continue to pray for you and Venus, trusting that God will work in this situation.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We've been thinking about you and your mom, Venus. It's tough when family relationships are strained like this. We want you to know that we're here for you, praying with you and for you both. We've been asking God to soften Venus' heart, to help her see the hurt she's causing. We've also been praying for you, Elodie, that you'd have wisdom and patience in handling this situation. We know it's hard, but remember, God sees you and He cares.

We've been reflecting on that verse in Matthew 7:1 - "Do not judge, or you too will be judged." It's not our place to condemn Venus, but it is our duty to love her and pray for her. We're trusting that God will work in her heart, in His perfect timing.

We've also been reminded of Ephesians 4:29 - "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." Let's make sure our words to Venus, and about her, are always respectful and loving, even when it's difficult.

We're here for you, Elodie. Let's keep praying together, trusting that God will bring healing and restoration to your relationship with your mom. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
