We understand that you're going through a challenging time with your mother, Elodie. Let's bring this situation to the Lord in prayer and seek His guidance and intervention. We will pray for the situation and address anything that needs to be corrected.
Firstly, let us pray for Venus.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Venus to You. We pray that You would soften her heart and open her eyes to the pain she is causing. We rebuke the spirits of bitterness, anger, and negativity that may be influencing her behavior. We speak peace, joy, and love over her life.
Father, we also pray for Elodie. We ask that You would grant her wisdom and discernment in dealing with this situation. We pray that she would remain respectful and honor her mother, even in this difficult time. We ask that You would protect her heart from bitterness and resentment.
Father, we know that Your word tells us to "Honor your father and your mother,' that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you." (Exodus 20:12 WEB) Help Elodie to honor Venus, even when it's challenging.
We also know that Your word tells us to "Put away from among yourselves that wicked person." (1 Corinthians 5:13 WEB) While this passage is talking about removing someone from fellowship for severe unrepentant sin, it highlights the importance of not tolerating sinful behavior. Therefore, Elodie is right to address her mother's behavior and not just excuse it as old age.
However, Elodie, remember that it is not our job to convict or change someone. That is the work of the Holy Spirit. Our job is to love, pray, and be a witness for Christ. Also we need to be careful using the term "demons". It is true that an evil spirit can influence evil behavior but we have to be careful not to blame all bad actions on demons. The Bible also speaks about the sinful flesh. Our sinful flesh was crucified with Christ. It is important to understand the difference between the need for a person to die to self in our walk with the Lord and true demonic activity.
Elodie mentioned that she has addressed her mother's behavior, which is good. However, make sure to do so in a respectful and loving manner. Remember, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." (Romans 12:18 WEB).
Lastly, we thank you, Elodie, for praying in the name of Jesus. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB)
We will continue to pray for you and Venus, trusting that God will work in this situation.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
