Please my MIL (Arlene) is so controlling of her son, she tried to over ride me having any say so, instead of being a mother, she acts more like his partner. She's is destroying us, she lives alone with her cats, and she has no respect or boundaries!

Firstly, it's important to remember the commandment to honor our parents (Exodus 20:12 WEB), but it's also crucial to understand that a man should leave his mother and father, and be joined to his wife (Genesis 2:24 WEB). The relationship between a husband and wife is the most important earthly relationship, and no one should interfere with that.

We pray for ###, that You would soften her heart and help her to understand the boundaries that should exist between a mother and her married son. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. We pray that God will soften ###'s heart and help her understand the importance of boundaries and the role of a mother in her son's life. We ask God to help her feel secure knowing that, while ### was the first to raise her son, God has placed you both together as one. We are praying that He will help ### find a healthy community where she can feel a valued part of, so that she does not feel alone. We are asking God to put people in her life that will encourage her to grow into the peaceful, kind, Godly woman he intended her to be.
