Jesus answered [the Pharisees] with a question: "What did Moses say in the law about divorce?"
"Well, he permitted it," they replied. "He said a man can give his wife a written notice of divorce and send her away."

Mark 10:3-4 NLT

Key Thought

In this Scripture, the Pharisees were able to correctly tell Jesus what Moses said about divorce. In the subsequent verses, [1] Jesus confronted the Pharisees with the truth revealed in their question; they were missing God's central principle about marriage. It is easy to quote Scripture; living God's truth revealed in that Scripture is much more challenging! Let's not seek just to know the Scriptures, but let's also commit to know the heart and will of God who lies behind the Scriptures.

[1] Mark 10:5-9.

Today's Prayer

O God, teach me your way, instruct me in your will, and lead me so that I will walk with you each day. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Whatever I go through I look at it as a lesson. I ask God, "What am I to learn from this?" Then I pray, “God please don't let me waste this experience. Let me keep my focus on You, relax, learn from it, and grow from it. Let me become wiser and smarter. Let me become better and not bitter. Thank You Jesus. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith it is so in Jesus’ name.” Prayer written by Encourager Linda Flagg, M.A., Board Certified Professional Christian Life Coach.
