Let us come together in prayer and support for you and your daughters.
As they seek jobs in psychology and IT, we remember the words of Proverbs 3:5-6,
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart,
and don’t lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Firstly, we acknowledge that it is good that they are seeking work, as 2 Thessalonians 3:10 reminds us,
For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: "If anyone is not willing to work, don’t let him eat."
We also remember 1 Timothy 5:8,
But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.
We do need to ask, have your daughters truly committed their way to the Lord in all things, including their job search? Are they trusting in his guidance and provision? It is only by truly trusting in Jesus Christ and his provision that we can truly know and trust that the Lord will direct our paths. Will they have the strength and faith to trust in the Lord if he directs them away from the jobs they are pursuing and to some other way of serving him.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus' name, lifting up our dear sisters who are seeking employment in psychology and IT. We pray that you would guide their steps, open doors that no one can shut, and give them favor in the sight of potential employers. We ask that you would provide them with jobs where they can use their skills and talents to bring you glory. Help them trust in You with all their hearts and lean not on their own understanding. We pray for your will be done in their lives.
We also pray for their prospective employers, that you would grant them wisdom and discernment as they consider candidates for their positions. We ask that you would bless them and their companies or businesses.
Help us all remember that we are to work and provide for ourselves and our household. Help us be willing to work and provide for ourselves and our household. Help us not be idle. Help us remember that if we do not work, we should not eat. Help us remember that if we do not provide for our own household, we have denied the faith and are worse than unbelievers. That is a very strong statement of your word. Help us remember it, trust you with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding.
Lord, we ask for your will in their lives.
We also remember Ephesians 2:8-9,
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast.
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. This is not from ourselves and not of our works. We can do nothing to save ourselves. Have your daughters really accepted this salvation? Do they have the assurance of coming to Jesus Christ for salvation? If not, we can trust the Lord to save them and give them the gift of eternal life.
We pray all these things in Jesus' name and for his sake. Amen.
