Hey!! I’m Maria, an orthodox teenager. Lately, I’ve been getting mixed signals from the boy I’ve liked for quite a while now. He’s my best friend and probably one of the boys I care for the most - besides my brother and father - in my life. I really love him and I wish I could pursue a relationship with him. However, lately he’s been talking to this other girl who’s quite literally the same as me! Me and her both enjoy ALL the same things and act the same. And before her, me and the boy I like used to always text and talk and hang out, and now it just feels like we’re getting distant and I don’t know why. Because, what does she have that I don’t? I don’t mean it in a bad way, I’ve just been trying really hard for ages. Please help me, I really like him. I just want to know if he also likes me too. Lord I ask you to guide the both of us.

Firstly, it's crucial to remember that God desires for us to have relationships that honor Him. The Bible tells us, Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14. As an Orthodox teenager, it's important to pursue relationships with those who share your faith and values.

It's also important to remember that God's timing is perfect. Wait on Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh. Psalm 27:14. Instead of focusing on the other girl or the mixed signals, focus on your personal growth and relationship with God.

Regarding the mixed signals, it's wise to have open and honest communication. Speak the truth in love, and grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ Ephesians 4:15. If you feel comfortable, consider expressing your feelings to him in a respectful and godly manner. However, be prepared for any outcome and trust that God has a plan for you.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up ### and her situation. Lord, we ask for Your guidance and wisdom in this relationship. Help her to discern Your will and to trust in Your perfect timing. Grant her the courage to have open and honest communication, and the strength to accept whatever outcome aligns with Your plan for her life.

Lord, we also pray for the boy she cares about. We ask that You guide him as well, and that You would soften his heart to seek You and Your will for his life. We pray for the girl as well. We ask this is Jesus name.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
