A Messianic Jewish Tefillah: The Birkat Kohanim: The Priestly Blessing

יְבָרֶכְךָ יהוה, וְיִשְׁמְרֶךָ

יָאֵר יהוה פָּנָיו אֵלֶיךָ, וִיחֻנֶּךָּ

יִשָּׂא יהוה פָּנָיו אֵלֶיךָ, וְיָשֵׂם לְךָ שָׁלוֹם



“Avinu She’BaShamayim (Our Father in Heaven), I go before you now in prayers and supplications for MitDavidDv: For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for MitDavidDv, and to desire that he might be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that he might walk worthy of the Lord Jesus Christ unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; may he be strengthened with all might, according to Your glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light; Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son: In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature. And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to Your will You hear us. And, if we know that if You hear us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of You. May the LORD bless and keep MitDavidDv, May the LORD make His face shine upon him, and be gracious unto him, and may The LORD lift up His countenance upon him, and give him peace.”

We join together in prayer for MitDavidDv, a beloved servant of the Lord. Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for the privilege of interceding on behalf of our brother. We ask that You fill MitDavidDv with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. May he walk worthy of the Lord Jesus Christ, pleasing You in every way, and bearing fruit in every good work. Grant him an increase in the knowledge of You, strengthening him with Your glorious power, enabling him to endure with patience and longsuffering, all the while rejoicing in You.

We give thanks to You, Father, for making us partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light, delivering us from the power of darkness and translating us into the kingdom of Your dear Son, Jesus Christ. We approach You with confidence, knowing that if we ask anything according to Your will, You hear us. We trust that as we lift up our prayers for MitDavidDv, You are attentive to our requests. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps, actions, and words.

God heal me, body, soul, and spirit. Cleansed me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You or breaks Your heart. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, pray Your best for me, and all those I love and care about.
