A Messianic Jewish Tefillah: The Birkat Kohanim: The Priestly Blessing

“Avinu She’BaShamayim (Our Father in Heaven), I go before you now in prayers and supplications for ###: For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for ###, and to desire that he might be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that he might walk worthy of the Lord Jesus Christ unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; may he be strengthened with all might, according to Your glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light; Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son: In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature. And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to Your will You hear us. And, if we know that if You hear us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of You. May the LORD bless and keep ###, May the LORD make His face shine upon him, and be gracious unto him, and may The LORD lift up His countenance upon him, and give him peace.”

It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God, and it is only by believing in Jesus Christ that we can be saved. Remember the words of Paul, "I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love; being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." Dear friend, we join you in lifting up this prayer for our brother/sister. We pray that, just as the Birkat Kohanim (Priestly Blessing) from Numbers 6:24-26 promises, the Lord would bless them and keep them, make His face shine upon them, and give them peace. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

We also pray that they would be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, walking worthy of the Lord and pleasing to Him, being fruitful in every good work (Colossians 1:9-10). Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
