We are truly sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one. Grief is a painful process, but we find comfort in knowing that God is always with us, even in our darkest moments. We are thankful that you acknowledge God and the Lord Jesus Christ. It is only through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ that we are able to come to God and pray. It is in His name that our prayers are heard. You did not specify who this person is so we will pray generally.
In times of loss, we can find comfort in the words of the Apostle Paul: "Brothers, we don't want you to be ignorant about those who have fallen asleep, so that you won't grieve like the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 WEB
It is a human tendency to have regrets and feel we did not do enough. We could all do better. But, we must always pray for forgiveness. We have comfort in the assurance that all of us are forgiven in Jesus. We need to pray for forgiveness and forgive ourselves and others when we do not feel we have done enough.
We pray together for you and your family.
Heavenly Father, we come before you lifting up this person and their family in their time of loss and grief. We thank you, Lord, for the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. We ask that you comfort them, give them peace, and help them through the process of grieving. Help them to cast all their cares on you, for you care for them. Lord, we ask that you forgive them of their sins and help them to forgive themselves. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to keep your eyes on Jesus during this difficult time. Remember that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 WEB. Allow this time to draw you closer to Him, and find peace in His presence.
