We understand that you're going through a difficult time missing your friend, and we want you to know that we're here to pray with you and support you. Firstly, it's important to remember that our hope and comfort come from God alone. As it says in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds."
In your grief, you can take comfort in the words of 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
However, we want to gently remind you that while it's natural to grieve, we should not do so without hope or as the world does. In 1 Thessalonians 4:13, it says, "But we don't want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don't grieve like the rest, who have no hope."
In addition, we notice in your prayer that you mention the outcome depends on the Lord. This shows that you have a degree of faith. But the outcome of what? If you are seeking this friendship, you should pray and ask God for his will. If it is not God's will, you will need to accept that. Remember what the Bible says in James 4:3, "You ask and don't receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures."
While praying, it is important to lift up the name of Jesus. Remember in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." It is only by his name that we can approach God the Father. If you have not done this, you should consider this.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our ### who is grieving the loss of a friendship. We ask that you comfort her/him, heal her/his broken heart, and bind up her/his wounds. Help her/him to cast all her/his cares on you, because you care for her/him. Lord we pray if this friendship is in your will then restore it. If it is not in your will, we ask that you help her/him to accept this and move forward.
If our ### has not believed and called on the name of Jesus Christ for salvation, we pray that you reveal this need and soften their heart to the gospel. Allow this situation to bring them closer to you Lord.
We also pray for the friend. Father, we ask that you bring them to repentance and forgiveness through Jesus. May they be brought into your kingdom for your glory.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, and remember that God is always with you, even in difficult times. Trust in him, and he will see you through.
