Littlewren, we understand that you're going through a difficult time missing your friend and dealing with feelings of depression. We're here to pray with you and provide biblical encouragement.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God is always there for you, even when friends may not be. As the Bible says, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." (James 4:8 WEB). This is a wonderful opportunity to strengthen your relationship with the Lord and find comfort in Him.
However, we want to address that depression, while a very real and serious issue, is not mentioned in the Bible. It can be a sign of hopeless. We should always have hope in Jesus Christ. The Bible does that we should cast all our burdens on Jesus Christ. It can also be a sign of sin in our lives. In either case, it is important to spend time in prayer. Also, it can be important to spend time talking to a strong believer in Jesus Christ.
Regarding your friendship, it's important to remember that God's will is paramount. Proverbs 16:9 WEB tells us, "A man's heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps." It could be that God is redirecting your paths, or perhaps this is a time to pray for reconciliation if it is God's will.
Let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you today in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up ###. We pray for healing from the pain and hurt caused by the drifted friendship. We ask that You comfort ### and draw her closer to You during this time. We also pray for Your will to be done in this situation; if it is Your desire for this friendship to be restored, we ask that You open the doors for that to happen.
We pray for a hedge of protection around ###. We pray that she will not be consumed by her feelings in the name of Jesus. We pray that she be filled with the Holy Spirit. And, we pray for ###'s friend, may they also find peace and guidance from You.
We ask all of this in Jesus Christ Name. Amen."
Be encouraged by the words of Psalm 34:18 WEB, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Trust in God, and He will see you through this challenging time.
Lastly, we want to gently remind you that it's crucial to come to God through Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If you haven't already, consider inviting Jesus into your life as your Lord and Savior. It is only through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ that we are saved.
